‘Stranger Things 3’: What Fans Are Saying About the ‘Summer in Hawkins’ Clip
With an H&M clothing line and a partnership with Coca Cola, it’s hard to forget the third season of Stranger Things premieres this summer. After defeating the Demogorgon and triumphing over the Mind Flayer, Mike, Eleven, and the rest of the gang are back. And they’re not kids anymore. The new ‘Stranger Things 3’ clip premiered on May 20, 2019
On May 20, Netflix shared a new teaser for the upcoming Stranger Things season. There were a few familiar faces, like Mrs. Wheeler, who is Mike’s mother. Billy Hargrove returns as the teen-heartthrob lifeguard the older women fangirl over.
“Dig the new suit, Mrs. Wheeler,” he says before mounting the lifeguard chair.
Fans have mixed opinions about this interaction, some saying it implies an affair between the two characters. Regardless, fans are intrigued. The “Summer in Hawkins” clip jumped to the #1 trending video spot on YouTube. It now has over 9 million views.
Fans are excited for the newest season
While some fans are excited about the new Stranger Things clip, others are left with questions about this next season. Some clues about the newest monster are the trailer, but Mrs. Wheeler’s clip took the story in a different direction.
“Give us what was set up in the opening scene when a boy offered a girl pizza. Give us what was continued at the Snow Ball. Give us Nancy and Dustin,” said one Twitter User, in response to the trailer.
“As a lifeguard that was a horrible method of changing stations,” said one YouTube comment. “As a fan, I’m very excited.”
Regarding the third season’s plot, the official trailer and the “Summer in Hawkins” clip did not reveal much. The trailer, released on March 20, 2019, shows the whole gang gearing up to surprise Dustin. It results in an unwanted aerosol -to-the-face moment. It already has over 27 million views on YouTube.
Stranger Things actress, Millie Bobby Brown, stated that season three is a new leaf for some characters, including Eleven. After all, they’re not kids anymore.
“Eleven’s character evolves greatly,” Brown said, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “And I can say its spreading fast. And that’s all I can tell you.”
There’s even a ‘Stranger Things’ Coke bottle
Just when you thought the series couldn’t get more of an 80s aesthetic, Coca Cola announced a partnership with Stranger Things. As a result, Coke is bringing back “New Coke,” a failed product from the 1980s.
