Are ‘Strangers Things’ Co-Stars Millie Bobby Brown & Sadie Sink Friends In Real Life?

The kids of Stranger Things started off seriously cute, and now they’re even more seriously badass teenagers. Season 3 of the Netflix horror mystery is out now, and things have changed now that they’re getting older and coupling up. There was one sweet friendship to come out of the season: That of Max and El. Are their real-life counterparts also close? Let’s see.

Here’s what happened with their characters in Season 3

In Season 2, Max joined the gang, but she and El didn’t really ever have a chance to bond. In fact, they weren’t particularly fond of one another. But in Season 3, El finds herself devastated when Mike starts to blow her off. She turns to Max, who advises her to dump him.

For the rest of the Season, Max and El spend most of their time together. Even when they do eventually join up with the boys, they’re there for each other. Max even protects El when Mike tries to force her to do more than she’s capable of after she’s injured.

Sink and Brown appear to have become friends off-set as well

It would seem that this friendship goes beyond just playing Max and El. Sadie Sink and Millie Bobby Brown appear to have had a lot of fun together on set, and they look like great pals, according to their Instagram accounts.

Remarking on the red and yellow raincoats they wear at one point, Sink deemed the two of them “Ketchup and Mustard.” And at the Season 3 premiere, they happily posed together, beaming and hugging. Maybe they’re faking it, but we doubt it. These actresses are close.

What else has Sink been in?

At 17 years old, Sink is the oldest of the Stranger Things kids (not counting the high-school-age teenagers, who are all played by 20-somethings). Sink got her start in a 2012 revival of the musical Annie

Since then, Sink has gone on to appear in films such as The Glass Castle (which stars Brie Larson) and in episodes of TV series such as The Americans, Blue Bloods, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Though Stranger Things was undoubtedly her break out role, Brown, at just 15, has appeared in many notable projects. She recurred in the spinoff miniseries Once Upon a Time In Wonderland, and appeared in episodes of popular shows such as Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy prior to being cast as Eleven.

Brown is definitely on an upward swing. She starred in this year’s action-fantasy Godzilla: King of Monsters, and will reprise her role as Madison Russell in the upcoming sequel Godzilla vs. Kong. Brown will star as the eponymous character in the upcoming film Enola Holmes opposite Henry Cavill.

What does the future hold for their characters on Stranger Things?

Even though Season 3 just came out, we’re already tapping our feet in anticipation of Stranger Things 4. The season has been greenlit, but there’s no word yet as to when it will come and what will happen.

Now that El and the Byers family have left Hawkins, how will they all work together? We think there’s definitely the possibility for new team-ups, especially with Dustin’s radio technology keeping them close. Hopefully, that means that El and Max’s friendship will remain as strong as ever.
