‘Survivor: Edge of Extinction’: Did Wardog and Aubry Get Into a Fight on Twitter?

It’s hard to believe Survivor is on its 38th season, and Edge of Extinction is offering different twists and turns than we’ve seen in the past. Players who are voted off the island now have a chance at redemption on Extinction Island, as they can potentially win their way back into the game to chase after the $1 million prize. And the recent tribal councils have been seriously wild as the players continue to scramble.

As for those who are still left on the main island, there are a few huge personalities we can’t ignore. Dan “The Wardog” DaSilva came out of the gate strong and continues to make big moves. It seems he may also be getting into verbal spats with other players via Twitter, too. Here’s what’s happening on social media between Wardog and notable returning player Aubry Bracco.

Every Survivor player has their own strategy, and this season is no different. We know Aubry Bracco best for appearing on Kaôh Rōng and Game Changers before Edge of Extinction, and she made it fairly far on her first two seasons. Being one of four returning players on Edge of Extinction definitely made her a threat from the start, as she’s always been a sneaky strategist rather than a loud personality on the island. Unfortunately, her time on the main island on Edge of Extinction was cut short after she was completely blindsided by her tribe — and she now has to attempt to fight her way back from Extinction Island.

Wardog has a different strategy on Edge of Extinction, however. He came out of the gate as a strong personality and has proven himself to be a strategic threat. He put himself in a majority alliance with returning player Kelley Wentworth — though he was quick to turn on her, too, as he recently voted her off the island. Survivor blogger Stephen Fishbach notes to People that Wardog was able to accomplish what no one else could — but his aggressive gameplay could come back to bite him in the end.

Wardog seemingly shamed Aubry on Twitter

Wardog and Aubry’s different philosophies on gameplay seemed to transcend into totally clashing personalities, too. A few months ago on Twitter, Survivor Reddit seemed to tip their hat off to Aubry. “Aubry has been shown with more energy this episode than she did in all of Game Changers,” the Twitter said. To that, Wardog added his own opinion. He tweeted back a shady, “She was on gamechangers?” Aubry then saw what Wardog said and sent him a gif of herself on the island with both middle fingers up shouting, “go f*** yourself.”

It seems Wardog is known on Twitter for other inflammatory commentary, too. “Wardog has a big personality and makes it known. Several past contestants have joked about him, so he has either blocked them or defended himself ruthlessly,” a Reddit user explains. Others seem to be in Wardog’s corner, however, and think it’s other past Survivor contestants who have started drama with Wardog.

As for the Aubry/Wardog drama, we’re not sure how they really feel about each other now — but if Aubry comes back from Extinction Island, we’ll certainly see some interesting interactions between them in the future. If Aubry stays on the jury and Wardog makes it to the end, her vote will also be quite telling.

Wardog has a huge fan base and might be a favorite to win

Even with his frequent Twitter activity and risky strategizing on the island, it seems Wardog has really grown on Survivor fans. One fan on Reddit noted, “This season’s cast, including Wardog, have been great on the show and have been very gracious when interacting with fans on Twitter.” And another added, “I figured he was a bright dude, he’s no slouch in the strategy category from what I’ve seen. I would not be surprised at all to see him win.” Yet another said, “He’s occasionally a bit over the top, but he always seems to have a pulse on what’s going on.”

We’re not sure what will happen in the future, but as of now, it looks like Wardog will continue to make big moves and fight his way to the end. As for his friendships with other players — we’re not so sure.
