Elaborate gift-giving is something flipper royalty Tarek El Moussa and Christina Anstead have in common. They both have great reality TV shows about flipping houses, and they used to be married… to each other.
Since they’ve spent so much time together in the past, it’s not surprising that they’ve developed some of the same gift-giving habits.
This year, they both gave absolutely fantastic birthday gifts to their new significant others. But the real question is, who gave the better gift?
Tarek El Moussa gave his girlfriend a Ferrari
Dating El Moussa certainly pays. For her 32nd birthday, he gave his girlfriend of three months, Heather Rae Young, a Ferrari. Apparently, it’s something she’s been wanting for some time, as Young explained on her Instagram.
In a post announcing the sweet gift, she wrote in part, “On our first date he asked me what my dream car was… I said a white Ferrari. And… #soulmates.”
After divorcing Anstead three years ago, El Moussa only officially confirmed he was dating Young on August 10. He made the announcement on Instagram, describing the way her smile “did that thing” to his tummy. He liked her right away and asked if she’d like to go out. Luckily for him, she agreed.
But the amazing car wasn’t her only gift. El Moussa also gave Young a day on a boat with friends and sprinkle cupcakes. Sounds like he really knows the way to a girls heart. He even included a sweet message for her on Instagram. “I love living this life with you,” he wrote.
Christina Anstead gave her husband a vintage car
Earlier this year, Anstead also gave an elaborate birthday gift. To her husband of only a few months, Ant Anstead on his 40th birthday, she gave 1958 Porsche 356A/1600 Reutter Coupe.
The vintage car was purchased from a 77-year-old man in Ohio. A source told People the reason for Anstead’s gift. “Ant had vintage cars back in the U.K., so Christina wanted to get him something fun to drive here as well.”
Who gives better birthday gifts: Tarek El Moussa or Christina Anstead?
No one can argue that both these gifts aren’t fantastic. We’re pretty sure no one would complain about receiving either car for their birthday. Most people would be ecstatic about receiving ANY car, let alone a luxury or vintage car. But both El Moussa and Anstead work hard for their fortunes flipping houses on reality TV.
El Moussa receives extra points for remembering that Young told him a white Ferrari was her dream car their first date. That shows he was really listening to what she said, not just checking her out. He also added a boat trip and cupcakes. You can never go wrong with cupcakes.
Anstead knew that her husband had a weakness for vintage, not just luxury. His gift is unique because it’s probably one of a kind. There can’t be very many 1958 cars around anymore. And she didn’t just go to a dealership. Anstead had to track this car down from an older gentleman who was selling.
So both gifts are pretty great. It’s going to be hard to determine a winner. But it has to be done. Drumroll, please …
We determine that the winner of our super accurate and absolutely official birthday gift contest is … El Moussa! He wins for the simple fact of cupcakes. Yum. Cupcakes.
