Taylor Swift: When You Can See the Full “Look What You Made Me Do” Music Video

Taylor Swift has just premiered her newest single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” and the music video’s release is just around the corner.

In a teaser clip posted to Taylor Swift’s YouTube channel on Friday morning, it was revealed that the music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” will air this Sunday, August 27th at the MTV Music Video Awards.

The 20-second teaser of the video features seven shots. First, we see a slow-motion car crash. Then there’s a shot of a golden throne with the words “Et Tu Brute” engraved on the arm, and a snake is seen crawling up the throne; snakes were a major part of the hype surrounding Reputation, as Swift posted snakes on her social media accounts without explanation leading up to the album announcement. That shot is followed by Swift holding a diamond necklace and then biting it. Swift is subsequently seen coming towards the camera on a swing, and finally, she stands in full view with backup dancers behind her. The end of the video tells fans to “brace for impact.”

“Look What You Made Me Do” is the first single off of Taylor Swift’s newest album, Reputation. It’s her first album in three years, and it hits stores this November. “Look What You Made Me Do” appears to be about Kanye West, with whom Taylor has had a long and very public feud over the years. Swift says in the song that she doesn’t “like your little games” or “your tilted stage,” and she says that she doesn’t like “the role you made me play: of the fool.” The song ends with Swift saying, “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Cause she’s dead.”

As has been observed by fans, the song is quite reminiscent of “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred. In fact, Right Said Fred has a writing credit on “Look What You Made Me Do.”

The MTV Music Video Awards air this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
