Taylor Swift’s 30th Birthday Bash Was Missing This OG Squad Member
The lavish event included many familiar faces, from Halsey to Todrick Hall, and by the looks of things, everyone had the time of their lives—especially Swift.
While it was good seeing Swift and her OG Squad back together again, fans were quick to point out that one person was noticeably missing and many of us are starting to question if the singer still considers this celeb a close friend?
Swift’s birthday bash was a full-blown Winter Wonderland
Swift may be the queen of pop but this past weekend just proved that she’s also the queen of party planning.
On December 13, the “ME!” singer threw the most on-brand 30th birthday party ever and just from photos alone, we could tell that this was the biggest celebrity filled event of the year.
Following Swift’s performance at Z100’s Jingle Ball, she along with her closest friends and family headed to New York’s Oscar Wilde restaurant to commemorate her special day with a Christmas-themed shindig.
The party was complete with cats on a cake, beautifully decorated Christmas trees, and ugly yuletide sweaters galore.
The singer also partied the night away with some of the biggest celebrities in the industry such as Camila Cabello, Blake Lively, Jonathan Van Ness, 5 Seconds of Summer, Gigi Hadid, and many more.
“Spending my 30th with the fans who have made my life what it is at [Jingle Ball,] then throwing the most aggressive holiday party known to womankind… I just.. seriously feel so lucky for you all and will spend forever trying to find ways to say thank you,” she wrote on Instagram.
Since the singer practically invited every celebrity she’s ever been close with to her party, fans were quick to notice that Karlie Kloss was missing from the event.
Not only was the Victoria’s Secret model no where to be found in Swift’s many Instagram photos, she also didn’t even wish her long-time pal a happy birthday on social media.
Are Kloss and Swift still friends?
So you’re probably wondering where in the world Kloss was while Swift’s celebrity-filled Christmas party was taking place?
Well it turns out that just like the singer, Kloss was a little busy throwing a holiday party of her own with her Kode with Klossy co-workers. “HAPPY HOLIDAYS from our Kloffice to yours,” she captioned a photo of her and her team.
While we can see that this obligation kept the Project Runway host away from Swift’s 30th birthday party, we’re not even sure she would have attended the superstar’s shindig had she been invited.
For the past few months, many people have theorized that Swift and Kloss’ long-time friendship was done for good and this latest instance might have just proved our speculations.
Though the status of their friendship is still up in the air, fans suspect that things have been rocky between the two stars ever since Swift was a no-show to Kloss’ October 2018 wedding ceremony.
While many of us could understand why Swift had to miss out on Kloss’ big day—she had to play a sold-out show in Australia—many of us suspect that things between Kloss and Swift hit a breaking point when the model found herself involved in the singer’s ongoing feud with Scooter Braun.
When news of Swift fighting to regain her music from Braun started making headlines, many celebrity’s showed their support for the singer— all except Kloss.
During the whole situation, Kloss remained silent and shockingly never showed her support for Swift despite their 7 year friendship: it turns out she and husband Josh Kushner are good friends with Braun and he’s also her manager.
It was later revealed by Swift’s stylist, Ashley Avignone, that Kloss’ relationship with Braun actually caused the rift between her and the singer, which has gotten to a point of no return.
While many of us thought this friendship was going to last for many years, sometimes it’s best for even the closest of friends to go their separate ways.
