‘BIP’: Tayshia Adams Confirms Breakup With John Paul Jones
It seems like Bachelor in Paradise couples are dropping like flies this week. First, Kristian Haggerty’s sister called Demi Burnett “desperate” on a recent Instagram post, sparking breakup rumors. Now, fan favorites Tayshia Adams and John Paul Jones have officially called it quits. There’s been plenty of odd couples throughout the history of the Bachelor franchise, but perhaps none more unlikely than Adams and Jones, who had an interesting journey on the beach this Summer.

Their Bachelor in Paradise journey
No one, not even their friends, expected Adams and Jones to hit it off on the beach this Summer. However, after Adams’ date with Blake Horstmann went left because of the Stagecoach drama, she began to set her sights elsewhere. Eventually, she and Jones developed and easy friendship. Unbeknownst to Adams, and everyone else on the beach, Jones quickly developed feelings for the 29-year-old. In fact, he even started drama with Derek Peth and tried to sabotage the podcast co-host when he learned that Peth has feelings for Adams also.

Once Jones expressed his feelings, things seemed to move quickly for the couple. Jones even planned Adams a prom to make up for the one she missed in high school. But, when the last day of Paradise came, and Jones confessed his love, Adams was unable to reciprocate those feelings and broke things off. Jones was devastated, as were the thousands of fans that were rooting for the odd couple. Eventually, though, Adams had a change of heart, went to Maryland, and managed to win Jones back.
Reality Steve said the pair weren’t together after paradise
But, life after paradise had its own set of problems. Many fans (including the infamous Bachelor blogger, Reality Steve) accused the couple of not actually being together. Other critics accused Adams and Jones of only being together for the fame and Instagram followers. Adams vehemently denied those rumors, but she recently opened up on Instagram to confirm that the pair had, in fact, split.

Taking to her Instagram page, Adams posted a picture of her and Jones together. She first acknowledged the special relationship the pair shared. “I know you guys have been asking about John and I recently, and as much as I like to keep my personal life private, I realize you have all watched and been a part of our journey from the beginning. Therefore, to stay true to that, I need to be open and honest with you in order to heal and move on.
John and I had something incredibly special. We fell for each other in Paradise, and everything was a whirlwind after that,” Adams began.
A heartfelt Instagram post
The Bachelor in Paradise alum went on to share that their busy schedules made it impossible for the relationship work. “When the show ended, I truly went back to Maryland to see if what we had was something we could build on without cameras, a production crew, and without feeling any pressure: to simply figure things out on our own terms. But the reality was, we were living on opposite coasts, and working insane schedules that made it impossible to see each other and build a life with each other,” Adams continued.
The couple is still on good terms post-breakup
Finally, the 29-year-old added that she and Jones were still on amazing terms and expressed hope that they always would be. “We truly did the best we could, but at this time have decided that what is best for the both of us is to go our separate ways. We are the best of friends and will continue to remain in each other’s life because regardless of the situation, we make each other happy,” Adams confessed. Well, we can’t say we didn’t see this split coming, but we’re happy that the pair are still amicable. Only time will tell if the rest of the couples from this season on Bachelor in Paradise will go the distance. But, so far, the odds aren’t looking good.
