Expecting baby number three

Mellencamp surprised her fans when she announced she was expecting her third baby with husband Edwin Arroyave. The RHOBH star had been mum around the subject until she broke the news herself.

“I’m in my second trimester, 14 weeks,” Mellencamp told Us Weekly. “Everything’s good and I’m in the clear, so I’m just starting to get to that point where I’m sharing with everybody. Plus now I have a bump, so there’s not much more hiding I’ll be able to do!”

The accountability coach is already a mother to Slate who is 6 years old and Cruz who is 5. Mellencamp says that both of her kids are excited to welcome their new sibling.

“They’ve been talking about it for a long time and actually it’s been my son who’s been like, ‘Mom, we need to have another baby,’ and I never wanted to get his hopes up. So when we told him, he was through the roof. So excited. They’re already calling it ‘their baby,’ and they have names picked for if it’s a boy or a girl — they’re ready!” she told the publication.

This pregnancy was a complete surprise to Mellencamp and her husband as her previous pregnancies were done through IVF.

“This time we really weren’t doing anything! I was on vacation! Just having fun with my family! It was a complete surprise. I didn’t even know I was because I didn’t have a regular cycle,” she also told Us Weekly.

Documenting pregnancy and the due date

The Bravo celebrity has decided to document her journey as she goes into her second trimester of the gestational period.

“I am continuing to listen to my body while eating what my baby needs and getting in daily activity,” Mellencamp shared on Instagram. “I’m at 15 weeks and could not be more grateful for this blessing.”

Mellencamp revealed that her current pregnancy is much different than her previous ones where she was on “blood thinners, steroids and lots of temporary bed rests to avoid another miscarriage.”

“Needless to say I wasn’t allowed to be active and I turned to things like bacon, egg and cheese biscuits and cinnamon rolls to comfort me (I swear the McDonald’s drive-thru knew my order by heart),” she continued. “I call them comfort foods, but they did anything but comfort me. Instead, they led me to a warning from my [doctor] about health risks.”

“I may only be 15 weeks in without an idea where the rest of this journey will take me, but I am beyond thankful for another day to wake up with a healthy baby in my belly and a healthy mommy who knows she’s doing what’s best for both of us. See you next trimester,” she concluded.

As far as her baby’s due date, Mellencamp revealed it to a fan when they asked on Instagram.

“At the beginning of March, thank you,” she replied according to OK magazine.

Teddi Mellencamp fires back at haters

Season 10 of RHOBH is currently in production and the ladies traveled to New York City for fashion week. The Housewives were there to support a fashion show from a new collaboration by Kyle Richards. As part of the presentation, the girls walked down the runway with various looks.

As pictures and videos of the fashion show made their way to social media, Mellencamp was heavily criticized for her walk. The memes and insults were so harsh that the expectant mother was left in tears.

“Last weekend I had the opportunity to walk in a fashion show during NYFW,” she wrote on Instagram with photos of her on the runway. “Now, I am no model— I can barely walk down the street properly— but I walked out there feeling good and excited to support my friend. That quickly shifted when I was hit with the barrage of memes and [Instagram] comments throwing negativity at me and my walk.”

Although Mellencamp claims most of the times she is “in on most jokes” about herself, “sometimes it just gets to be too much” for her to handle.

“I had a big ole cry and felt truly embarrassed— until I remembered this Brené Brown quote: ‘If you aren’t in the arena getting your a** kicked, I’m not interested in your feedback.’ And you know what, I am so damn proud of myself for having the courage to step out of my comfort zone, especially at 15-weeks pregnant in a flesh-colored bodysuit, and do my very best,” she added.

“We cannot control other’s actions, we can only control our own. So now, I’m just gonna smile brighter and keep on strutting. Shoutout to Kyle Richards for absolutely killing it with Kyle and Shahida. Such an amazing accomplishment.”
