‘Teen Mom 2’: Is Jenelle Evans Picking on Leah Messer in a Desperate Bid to Stay Relevant?
Jenelle Evans is hard at work trying to stay relevant, and it appears the only way she knows how to do that is to pick at her former co-stars. The troubled mother of three seems to be taking a page right out of her husband’s playbook when it comes to using social media after being fired from the wildly popular Teen Mom 2 franchise. In recent weeks, she’s taken to picking at her co-stars, and she has one favorite target in particular; Leah Messer.
Why is Jenelle picking on Leah?
Jenelle Evans claims to have some dirt on her former co-star, Leah Messer. The mother of three has been busy on Instagram sharing stories that link Messer and Lowry romantically. The two Teen Mom 2 stars vacationed in Hawaii together with their families this summer. They have enjoyed a pretty solid friendship, and while dating rumors have swirled, Evans Instagram fury seems to suggest the two getting together would be a bad thing.
Evans hasn’t only been sharing links, though. She’s also taken to Instagram to suggest she knows what happened between Messer and her second ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert. The pair parted ways back in 2015 but seem to be rekindling something in recent months. Evans also alleged that she had information from Leah’s first ex, Corey Simms.
Jenelle might be picking on Messer because she thinks she’s an easy target. It’s also possible that Messer’s friendship with Lowry has struck a nerve with Evans. It’s also possible that Evans is merely lashing out because things aren’t exactly going her way lately.
This isn’t the first time Jenelle and her husband have shaded the Teen Mom 2 star
Jenelle Evans made headlines a couple of weeks back when she suggested Messer must be a “bad mother” in response to a fan inquiry. She claims that Messer had her children taken away, too. Fans were quick to point out that Messer’s custody dispute never involved the authorities. Instead, her ex-husband, Corey Simms, fought for full custody of the twins they shared while Messer was battling anxiety and depression.
Shortly after David Eason was booted from the franchise, he took to Twitter to pick on individual stars. While he focused almost entirely on Lowry, he did take shots at Messer and her second ex-husband Jeremy Calvert.
Evans and Lowry have a long-standing rivalry. Lowry seemingly has little to pick at, at least for Evans, so both Evans and Eason have resorted to takings shots at the mother of three’s weight. Lowry is not one to back down and has clapped back at both stars. Messer seems to be doing the same, now.
Is Jenelle desperate to stay relevant?
Evans may be now in an absolute panic over the fact that producers haven’t come back to offer her a spot on the roster. Evans was booted from the show after Eason shot and killed the family dog, Nugget. It’s possible that Evans assumed that once the legal drama was cleared up, she’d be able to talk her way back onto the cast. That doesn’t seem to be happening, and no other networks are biting, either. It seems the mother of three has been thoroughly blacklisted.
Her recent string of nitpicking and name-calling might be a desperate bid to stay relevant. After the stunning decision to return her children to her care, the former Teen Mom 2 star tried to launch a Twitch account. In a few weeks, though, she’s only managed to amass 1200 followers. Her recent string of YouTube videos has not fared much better in terms of viewership.
With a cosmetics business set to launch at some point in the fall, the former reality TV star needs a way to stay in the public eye. Picking at her former co-stars seems to be the last avenue she can possibly explore. Although, it’s not one that is likely to endear her to her old fanbase.
