‘Teen Mom 2’: Jade Cline Doesn’t Feel Like She’s Replacing Jenelle Evans
Even though she’s not on Teen Mom 2 anymore, Jenelle Evans is still all over the news. After allegations that her husband, David Eason, shot their dog Nugget, Evans was kicked off the show. This is after Eason was kicked off for homophobic tweets. While Evans’ saga continues off screen, fans of the show are getting to know the new cast member, Jade Cline.
Cline’s first appearance on MTV was on an episode of Young and Pregnant. Now, fans will get to see her continue her journey, and watch her little one, Kloie, grow up. Even though she’s technically taking Evans’ place, she says she’s not her replacement.
Cline says she’s not Evans’ replacement
In an interview with TMZ, Cline made it clear she doesn’t think she’s replacing anyone. She has her own story, and her situation is very different from Evans’. She’s a new mom, and she’s doing the best she can.
She’s on the show because she feels she has a story to tell. She thinks it’s one that a lot of viewers can relate to, but it has nothing in common with Evans’. She says she’s a good mom, but she recognizes she has a lot of growing to do. “Every good mom, they make their own mistakes and what makes you a better mom is learning from your mistakes and growing.”
There’s a lot of drama in her life
Fans will know that Evans’ was the drama in her own life. Things never seemed to quite go her way, but usually the reason could be traced back to her own poor choices. That seems like the polar opposite of Cline’s situation.
Cline’s mother and stepfather struggle with addiction. They were both in jail when she welcomed her baby girl into the world. Her biological father died when she was young.
As far as her baby daddy, there’s drama there too. Sean Austin, Kloie’s father, has his own substance abuse issues. They’re not together now, but fans may watch Cline try to navigate co-parenting with an unstable ex.
Cline’s thread on Teen Mom 2 may also contain a love story. We know she’s not with Austin, but she won’t give a definitive answer on whether or not she’s seeing someone. Hopefully fans will get an answer on the show.
Cline doesn’t talk to her castmates
Unlike her castmates, Cline’s MTV debut was not on an episode of 16 and Pregnant. She was 19 when she gave birth to her daughter. The other girls on the show were younger. Most of them had their first children at 16. At this point, all of Cline’s Teen Mom 2 co-stars have more than one child.
Even though she was older than the others when she gave birth, Cline is younger than Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer, and Chelsea Hoekstra. All of the original cast, including Evans, are in their late 20s. Cline is only 22. All in all it seems like she’s in a different place than her co-stars, so it’s not surprising they don’t talk.
It is possible that Cline will get to know her fellow cast members on the show. A lot of the stars of both versions of Teen Mom are friends in real life. She already has something in common with Hoekstra. Both women are hairstylists. Plus, after being on the show, she’ll be able to relate to her castmates about what it’s like being filmed 24/7.
Hopefully Cline gets what she needs out of Teen Mom 2. It seems like she’s trying as hard as she can. She’s dealing with the challenges life has thrown at her, and there are quite a few of them.
