‘Teen Mom 2’: Jenelle Evans Admits That Online Trolls Have Caused Her to Struggle with Anxiety
Jenelle Evans has spent most of her adult life on television. And while that has probably been very beneficial for her bank account, it hasn’t been the best for her mental health. Evans’ on-screen actions have caused a lot of fans to bash her on social media. Over time, mean comments would get to anyone and Evans is no different.
Jenelle Evans’ journey on tv
Evans started out on 16 and Pregnant. Her constant arguments with her mom made her an instant topic of discussion. When she appeared on Teen Mom 2, her string of toxic relationships was front and center for the world to see. But things got worse when she married David Eason.
From the moment he appeared on-screen, fans were wary of Eason. He eventually got let go from the show for making homophobic comments. Despite his hateful comments, Evans stayed with him, much to the chagrin of fans.
Jenelle loses custody of her children
Later, Eason shot Evans’ dog in front of her children which resulted in her losing custody of her them temporarily. When this happened, fans came at Evans on social media for continually allowing her children to be around a person like Eason.
Eventually, Evans called it quits with Eason.
“I’ve mostly kept off social media the past few days because I’ve been focused on making some big life decisions,” she wrote in a since-deleted post on Instagram. “I’ve lived my life on camera since I was 17 years old. And a lot of it hasn’t been pretty. But it’s been my life.”
“I know I need to make changes. I’m starting that now,” she wrote. “The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I’ve filed papers to start that process.”
“I appreciate the support from everyone who has asked how I am,” she continued. “Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together. But you’ll hear from us again soon.”
Fans’ treatment of Jenelle Evans post-breakup
Initially, people were supportive of Evans and her decision to leave Eason, but when photos surfaced of the two hanging out together again, fans withdrew their support.
Things only got worse when Evans tweeted about her family getting a new dog.
“NEW BLOG: Meet Rosey,” she wrote. “Since everyone’s asking… here’s our “new” pet.
People immediately began bashing her.
“No one’s asking,” one person commented. “We all know the truth already. You’re a terrible human being. I feel bad for your kids and all those animals being in your and David’s care. “
“I’m actually sick to my stomach, thinking about the abuse that poor sweet fur baby is going to endure,” another person tweeted. “Please Jenelle, don’t put that baby in the crosshairs of your toxic environment. PLEASE!!!!
How the negative comments affect Jenelle
Evans has never been one to hold her tongue, but mean comments have a way of getting to even the strongest people.
“Sometimes it gets to you really bad,” she recently said of all the harsh comments on the Dumb Blonde podcast. “You have to ignore all of it. You have to put down your phone and focus on something else.”
She even admitted that the remarks had caused her to suffer from anxiety and depression, especially recently.
Hopefully, Evans can find a way to get peace of mind.
