Things have not been easy recently for former Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans and her husband David Eason. In 2019 alone, both of them were fired from the hit MTV show and lost custody of their children.
Some fans believe that Eason is a bad influence on Evans, though the two of them are still together after these past few years. Recently, Evans decided to open up to fans about how things are going for the two of them and shared what happened to the couple after the recent scandals. Read on to find out the details below.
Jenelle Evans’ husband has been in hot water numerous times
Eason has not been very popular with fans and MTV’s production crew.
Ever since Eason and Evans got together, there have been several reports that she could be in an abusive relationship. Last year, 911 was called to their home and Evans revealed that her husband became violent after drinking.
Eason also made many homophobic and transphobic tweets, which prompted MTV to fire him from the show.
While Evans continued to film Teen Mom 2 by herself, but sources shared that the filming crew did not want to work with her if Eason was around, especially since he was known to have a lot of weapons.
An insider told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup: “There have been multiple discussions among various crew member groups about the possibility of him coming to a location where we’re filming and opening fire if he’s in a bad mood or something, even if it’s just to scare us.”
Recently, fans became even more horrified at Eason when he allegedly killed the family dog. According to Eason, the dog was attacking their daughter, so he had no choice. However, the backlash did not stop and sponsors withdrew from Teen Mom 2, which resulted in the network ultimately firing Evans from the show.
Jenelle Evans says that her relationship has not been easy
Fans of Evans have long wondered just how long she would stay with Eason for and whether or not there would be a final straw at any point. Recently, Evans had a Q&A on Instagram with her followers and one fan decided to ask her: “Was it a hard decision to stay with David after the dog incident?”
Evans responded candidly. “Honestly yes, we were on bad terms for almost a week,” she shared. “Didn’t talk much. He knows how upset it made me. Now that we are getting over this incident our relationship has got a lot stronger. David has completed anger management as well.”
Jenelle Evans regained custody of her kids
But it looks like things are looking up for the couple in other areas since they recently regained custody of their children.
A couple of months ago, after Eason shot the family dog, a judge ordered Evans and Eason to give up custody of their children. The couple’s shared child, Ensley, stayed with Evans’ mother. Meanwhile, Evans’ son Kaiser stayed with the boy’s father, Nathan Griffith. Eason’s daughter, Maryssa, stayed with her maternal grandmother.
However, a judge then ruled that custody of all three children would be returned to Evans and Eason on July 4th, though Evans’ son Jace, whom she had with ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis, would continue living with her mother. Evans told People that she was “ecstatic” about having her children back at home.
“Throughout this long process and final decision, I am excited to be moving forward and continuing to show America I’m a good parent,” she said.
