Former MTV Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans Eason might have faced legal troubles of her own in the past, but recently, she’s stayed mostly out of trouble. This time, it’s Nathan Griffith, her ex and the father of her five-year-old son Kaiser, who’s landed in hot water.
But Jenelle doesn’t seem to be bothered by her ex’s arrest in North Carolina this past week for a DWI. The mom of three spent time with her kids and husband, David Eason, at a monster truck rally over the weekend.
It’s been an eventful year for the Eason family
Jenelle, who first appeared on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant before joining the cast of Teen Mom 2, has not been filming for the next season of the show. Most fans think it has a lot to do with Jenelle’s husband, David Eason.
Eason first came under fire for tweets that many fans considered homophobic and transphobic. Later, Eason made headlines again when he admitted to killing the family dog, Nugget, after he claimed the pet bit the Easons’ young daughter, Ensley.
While the Easons’ kids were temporarily removed from the home while the matter was investigated, the court concluded that they could retain custody of all of them.
Jenelle posted pictures and videos with her controversial husband at the rally
Still, Jenelle’s marriage seems to be well intact. She posted two photos of herself posing with David on Sat., Oct. 19 at an outdoor monster truck rally. The pair appeared cuddly and friendly, and the former teen mom captioned the pics, “Today was fun.”
Jenelle also posted pictures from the rally with Kaiser, Jenelle’s son with Nathan Griffith, as well as David’s daughter Maryssa, their shared daughter Ensley, and Jenelle’s son Jace, who lives with her mother Barbara Evans. She captioned the kids’ photo, “I’m one of the kids now #StopGrowing.”
Jenelle’s Instagram stories featured videos from the monster truck rally, including one of David cuddling with Ensley and another of Ensley saying, “That’s a really big fast truck.”
The former ‘Teen Mom 2’ star disabled comments after critics spoke up
Jenelle has been open in recent weeks about how public criticism has negatively affected her. Her brow kit and makeup line, JE Cosmetics, launched to mostly poor reviews, and many former fans think that the Easons should not have regained custody of their kids after Nugget’s death.
Apparently, this weekend was no exception, as the former Teen Mom 2 cast member disabled comments on the two Instagram posts after her profile was flooded with negative replies.
It’s unclear as to whether Griffith will continue to pursue custody of Kaiser
Nathan Griffith, who has also appeared on Teen Mom 2, announced in July that he had filed for full legal and physical custody of Kaiser. The future of that filing is now unclear, given Griffith’s recent arrest.
Griffith was taken into custody by the Cary Police Department in North Carolina on Thursday after he was allegedly discovered unconscious and intoxicated in his car. Griffith was allegedly found outside a Wake County grocery store and failed several field sobriety tests before being held on a $10,000 bail.
