‘Teen Mom 2’: Jenelle Evans Staying with Husband David Eason Despite Losing Custody of her Kids

If you’ve been following Teen Mom drama, then you know it’s been a sordid few weeks for Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans.

On Tuesday, the 27-year-old lost custody of her three children, Jace, Kaiser, and Ensley.

“Jenelle was stunned that the judge did not give her back the kids,” a source told E! News. “They are all for the time being remaining with their respective caregivers.”

In the past, Evans’ mother Barbara has taken care of the children and currently has custody of Jace and Ensley.

“Of course I would like for Jenelle to get them all back eventually, but certain things have to happen first,” Barbara said.

Why did Evans get her children taken away?

Evans and her husband David Eason have had a tumultuous month. First, Evans was fired from Teen Mom 2, after Eason allegedly killed her dog in front of the children.

After the incident, Nathan Griffith, the father of Kaiser, reportedly requested that police do a welfare check on his son.

“The male caller referenced making sure his son was safe because his ex-fiancée’s husband shot a dog in front of him,” a public information officer told People.

The police did not check on the incident regarding the dog when they went to do the welfare check.

Why did Eason shoot the dog?

Eason allegedly killed the family dog after it bit his daughter Ensley in the face.

“I don’t give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face… whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I don’t put up with that s— at all,” he once captioned a photo of a scratch on his daughter’s face. “I’m all about protecting my family, it is my life’s mission. Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want but this isn’t the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge whether or not an animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME.”

After the alleged murder of the dog, the children were removed from the home.

Evans and Eason are now only allowed to see their children once a week for a supervised hour-long visit, according to reports from TMZ.

Evans staying with her husband

Despite the allegations against her husband causing her children to be removed from her home, Evans is sticking with Eason.

“I love being a mother and David and I will get through this. We are staying strong and united,” Evans said in a statement, according to TMZ.

“During this difficult time, I’m focused on getting Kaiser back and cooperating with my legal team on the next steps to getting my children back,” she also said a statement obtained by People.

What do other ‘Teen Mom’ stars think about the situation?

Other Teen Mom stars have spoken out about everything going on with Evans.

“What happened is sad, but I think it’s in the best interest of the children. I want the children in a safe healthy environment,” Leah Messer told E! News. “I feel bad for Jenelle. I’ve hit rock bottom myself and sometimes that’s what it takes to make things right. I truly hope this is a wake up call for her.”

“If [David] was the cause of me losing my children, I would have stepped away from the marriage a while ago,” she continued. “If I lost custody because I didn’t protect my children from him, I would make sure the judge knew they were my first priority by leaving him.”

Former costar Kailyn Lowry told the outlet that she is also hoping for the best for Evans.
