‘Teen Mom 2’: Kailyn Lowry On How She And Chris Lopez Tried To Make It Work After Giving Birth To Lux
As Teen Mom 2 fans know, Kailyn Lowry had her most recent baby, Lux, with Chris Lopez. From the begining of their relationship, things were turbulent, and even after Lux was born, the two couldn’t work their issues out to stay togehter. But Lowry says they tried.
Kailyn Lowry and Chris Lopez tried to get back together after Lux was born
In Lowry’s most recent book, A Letter Of Love, she writes about giving birth to Lux.
“Chris never left my side. He stayed with me every single day in the hospital,” she wrote. “After we left the hospital, he came to the house and stayed with us as well. We tried to get back together and work things out, but it only lasted for about a month. After that brief time of being together, we didn’t speak for a period of eight months.”
As Lowry went into labor with Lux, she wasn’t sure if she should notify Lopez or not, as the two weren’t on speaking terms at the time.
“At first I was going to have Chris meet me there, but I was hesitant. We had not spoken or had any contact for two weeks prior to this time; therefore, I was nervous just to call him. I called anyway and Chris did come to the house to get me,” she wrote.

And it’s a good thing he did because Lowry’s labor got very intense very quickly.
“When we were about halfway to the hospital, I felt an urge that was almost too much to bear. Before I knew it, I yelled out ‘Chris, I have to push.’ I was holding onto his arm as tightly as I could. I don’t think that my nails could have gone any deeper into his arm. I barely made it into the hospital bed, and the staff did their best to get my IV’s started. I tried to tell the nurses that I had to push because I was dilating fast. I could feel it. ‘I have to push! I have to push!’ I could not say it enough,” Lowry wrote.
She continued: “The baby was coming. As the nurse was checking me, I went from eight to ten centimeters in her hands. Chris told me that as I started to push again, everyone went into panic mode. It became necessary for the nurse to hit the emergency button to call for all of the nurses to come and assist. As they all ran into my room, I noticed that my doctor never made it.”
After a chaotic rush to the hospital, when everything was said and done, Lowry gave birth to Lux over the course of one hour and thirty minutes.
“This was Chris’ first baby. It felt like everything around us was moving so fast, but it seemed as if Chris and I were stopped in time,” she wrote.
