‘Teen Mom 2’: Kailyn Lowry Says Hardest Part Of Filming New Season Was Her Contemplating Aborting Her 4th Child
Teen Mom 2 is back for the 10th season and the moms aren’t holding anything back. This season follows Kailyn Lowry’s journey as she comes to terms with being pregnant for the fourth time. Lowry admits the discovery was heartbreaking, so much so that she contemplated abortion.
Kailyn Lowry opens up about considering abortion during filming new season of ‘Teen Mom 2’
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lowry says becoming pregnant for the fourth time was not ideal.
“I was like, ‘Is this the best decision for me or should I consider abortion,’” she says. “Furthermore, I was upset that I even put myself in a position where I was when I was 16 and pregnant because I feel like those were some of the things that I was thinking about when I was 16. And so flash forward 10 years later and I’m making the same mistake.”
The father of Lowry’s fourth child is her on-again-off-again boyfriend of a few years, Chris Lopez. Lopez is also the father of Lowry’s third child. Lowry previously said she did not want Lopez present for the birth of their second child. She’s also accusing him of being an absentee father at times.
Lopez accuses Lowry of keeping their newborn away from him but Lowry says he’s lying. According to her, Lopez does not make a consistent effort to be part of their children’s lives.
Kailyn Lowry’s previous remarks about her fourth pregnancy
This isn’t the first time Lowry has been open about her unplanned pregnancy. In an August 2020 interview with The Domenick Nati Show, Lowry is gutwrenchingly honesty about becoming a mother for the fourth time without the support of a steady partner.
“I just had a really hard time processing the fact that I was 27 years old and I felt like I made the same mistake I made when I was 16,” she admits to Nati. “Just like not being careful, not taking care of myself. And just having myself in a worse position than I had been in when I was 16 to be perfectly honest with you. It was just not a good situation.”
She admits to struggling with coming to terms with what would be the best decision for herself and her family. She ultimately decided to proceed with her pregnancy. As for what changed her mind, Lowry says a doctor’s appointment made her rethink her initial decision.
“I got there and said, ‘I need to see the baby on the screen. I want to see the ultrasound,'” she recalls. “When I looked at it, that’s all I needed to know in order to make the decision not to get it. So that’s for me…when I saw that life on the screen I said, ‘I can’t do this.’ And it was in that moment that I decided I was gonna keep my baby.”
The mother of four insists that moving forward, she will not repeat her past mishaps. She is also open to finding lasting love and having the family she wishes for. In the meantime, she’s focusing on being the best mom to her four boys.
