‘Teen Mom 2’: Was Jenelle’s Ex David Eason Really Robbed? Fans Aren’t So Sure

Jenelle Evans and David Eason, formerly of MTV’s Teen Mom 2, are shaping up to have quite a bitter divorce. After Evans announced her separation from her husband on two years on Oct. 31, she immediately fled to Tennessee with her son Kaiser and daughter Ensley, leaving Eason behind on the couple’s land in North Carolina.

The former 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 star quickly got a restraining order against Eason that prevents him from contacting her, Ensley, or Evans’ other kids from previous relationships.

Evans claimed Eason had physically and psychologically abused her, killed her dog Nugget, and mistreated her children over the course of their two-year marriage. The order has since been extended two times and will be valid through the 2019 holiday season.

Since the separation announcement, Eason has spoken out against his Teen Mom 2 ex on social media. Most recently, he claimed his home was burglarized while he was in court with Evans in Tennessee, hinting that the alleged culprit might have been sent by Evans. But fans aren’t convinced by his story.

Eason claimed he was robbed while in Nashville

On Dec. 12, Eason shared a link on his personal Instagram to a Champion Daily article in which he claimed to have been robbed.

Eason said his house was “ransacked,” trashed, and burglarized while he was in court with Evans in late Nov. 2019. The former Teen Mom 2 star seemed to implicate his ex by saying the break-in could only have been accomplished by someone who knew the place well.

He told the outlet in an exclusive interview, “When I arrived home on November 27th from Nashville, Tenn., I immediately knew my house had been broken into. I changed the locks before I left. So whoever broke in had to break in the back door which apparently they had previous experience with.”

The father of three seemed to throw shade at his ‘Teen Mom 2’ ex

Eason provided Champion Daily with pictures of his ransacked home, including belongings strewn across floors, closets yanked open, and drawers ripped out of chests. “A lot of stuff was taken, including many of my personal belongings to be missing as well,” he said in the interview. “It’s really low for anyone to steal someone’s tools when that’s what they use to make a living and that’s their livelihood altogether.”

Evans’ controversial ex seemed to throw some shade at her by insulting her homemaking skills. “Not only was the entire house destroyed, but the kids’ rooms look like they were flipped upside down. It took several days to clean it all up when I had already been cleaning for a month try to catch up on things that had been ignored for a while,” he said. “The house was spotless when I left and came back to this.”

Adding that the break-in was “stressful” and left him living “in fear,” Eason claimed the onsite security cameras weren’t working at the time so he couldn’t catch the alleged culprit.

‘Teen Mom 2’ fans were skeptical of the story

Teen Mom 2 fans flocked to Eason’s post to express their doubts about the story. Most didn’t seem to believe he was robbed, according to Pop Culture.

Many commenters called his claims “clickbait.” Several seemed to think it was an insurance scam or an elaborate attempt to shade Evans for not cleaning up properly. The Ashley’s Reality Roundup pointed out that Eason claimed his dog was stolen just a few weeks earlier and that so many robberies weren’t likely to happen in a row. Fans also thought it was overly convenient that the security cameras weren’t on at the time of the alleged robbery.

In comments to fans, Eason insinuated that “his ex” was to blame. But because he’d asked followers to “let him know” if they had any ideas about who robbed him, Teen Mom 2 fans weren’t at all convinced that the story was genuine to begin with.

Eason has since deleted the post and stayed quiet

Since Champion Daily’s story was released, Eason hasn’t said much about the alleged burglary. The former Teen Mom 2 star deleted the post and took the link to the story out of his bio.

Since the alleged robbery story broke, Eason has shared photos of his 11-year-old daughter Maryssa‘s school dance as if nothing happened. He also took to his Instagram stories to share a number of videos of himself spotlighting deer and hunting with Maryssa. The former Teen Mom 2 cast member seems to have deleted all traces of the burglary from his social media, leading many to believe the claim was never true.
