‘Teen Mom OG’: Mackenzie Standifer’s Family Allegedly Can’t Stand Ryan Edwards

We remember when Teen Mom first began, and Maci Bookout was always a fan favorite. This mother always seemed to have a good head on her shoulders even when she wasn’t getting along with boyfriend Ryan Edwards. Years later, Maci and Ryan co-parent their son, Bentley, but Maci is married and has two other children with her husband — and she has a restraining order against Ryan as well.

Ryan has since left the show with his wife, Mackenzie Standifer, but their family life is still well-documented online. And Ryan’s recent legal troubles have had fans wondering what Mackenzie’s family thinks of her husband.

Judging from Instagram, it seems Ryan and Mackenzie are doing wonderfully with their kids — but their relationship probably isn’t that simple. Radar Online reports Ryan was released from jail a few days before Easter after spending three months behind bars. He was arrested back in January for outstanding warrants, theft, and heroin possession.

This is far from the first time Ryan’s found himself in legal trouble, too. While Mackenzie and Ryan are no longer a part of Teen Mom, MTV documented Ryan’s struggles with addiction before on the series. And Radar Online notes he had completed 90 days in rehab last year before relapsing.

The publication also noted that while Ryan’s mother and father didn’t see him while he was in jail, they were incredibly excited to speak with him upon his release. “Ryan is excited to come home and be with all of us,” Ryan’s father, Larry, told Radar. “He said he’s missed us and he loves us. I’m excited. It’s been a long time.”

Mackenzie’s family is allegedly done with Ryan

The Instagram photo of Mackenzie and Ryan may not illustrate the whole truth of what really went on on Easter Sunday. Radar Online reports Mackenzie’s relatives banned Ryan from having Easter dinner at their family home. As a source told the publication, “Mackenzie will be at her grandmother’s for Easter, but not Ryan. The family isn’t fond of his recent stints still.” Not only that, but the insider also added that Mackenzie’s family thinks her marriage to her ex-husband, Zach Stevens, was better than her current marriage.

While Mackenzie and Ryan’s ex, Maci, have had their war of words in the past, it seems Mackenzie also leaned on Maci for help while Ryan was in jail. Maci recently posted a photo of her and Mackenzie with their kids. “Family isn’t an important thing, it’s everything,” she captioned the photo. Perhaps all of the stress of Mackenzie’s family’s opinions and Ryan’s stint in jail have caused her to reach out to Maci for support.

The couple seem to be struggling to make their relationship work

Divorce rumors circles Mackenzie and Ryan in the past — and new reports claim that Ryan isn’t happy with his wife now that he’s out of jail, too. Another source told Radar Online that Ryan accused Mackenzie of cheating on him while he was behind bars, and she “didn’t understand what she did wrong.” Not only that, but the source added that Ryan wasn’t a fan of Mackenzie’s new darker hair and some of the more revealing clothing she was wearing.

According to the insider, “Mackenzie is not about to deal with being put down by him and his accusations when she’s done everything to try and be there for him.” And we can’t forget that Ryan was caught talking to women on Tinder in the past, too. For the sake of all the kids involved, we’re hoping Ryan and Mackenzie can repair their relationship now that he’s home — and he can also hopefully stay out of legal trouble in the future, too.
