‘Avengers: Endgame’ Premiere: Scarlett Johansson’s Infinity Gauntlet Jewelry Was Breathtaking
Red carpet premieres are a time to celebrate the film in question, and what better way than with fashion and accessories? The stars of Avengers: Endgame turned up for the premiere completely decked out, and given the exciting tone of the movie, it fits that everyone was dressed creatively. While the men wore suits of varying colors and styles, the women got to have even more fun, especially when it comes to their jewelry. Here are two of the best-dressed women and their gorgeous nods to the MCU.
The history of the Infinity Gauntlet
First, you may need a refresher as to what it is you’re seeing here. The Infinity Gauntlet is the solid gold glove worn by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Throughout the film, he collects the Infinity Stones: the Power Stone (purple), the Space Stone (blue), the Reality Stone (red), the Soul Stone (orange), the Time Stone (green), and the Mind Stone (yellow).
As he acquired the stones, he places them in their spots on the Gauntlet, and when he has them all, he snaps his fingers. This causes the Decimation, which eliminates half of all living creatures in the universe. This is where Infinity War ends and is the event that the Avengers home to reverse in Endgame.

Larson has actually noted that this is the first film marks the first time she played Carol Danvers in the MCU, as Captain Marvel was filmed after Infinity War and Endgame. The actress and recent first-time director wore a simple pale purple gown, a bit of a nod to Thanos himself, on the purple carpet, as well some beautiful opal earrings. But the piece de resistance is her left hand, on which she is wearing five rings, one on each finger, and a large bracelet, each in the color of their respective Infinity Stones. Like her co-star, Johansson had her own unique take on the Infinity Gauntlet. When she took the stage to talk to the press, she was asked about the piece, saying, “Pretty great, huh?” adding that it was designed by Sonia Boyagian. “My boyfriend [Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost] actually had this made for me because he’s, to quote Kevin Feige, the most geeky, romantic, virgin ever.”
Johansson’s piece is a bit different. While it still features different colored jewels to represent each Stone, the four on her fingers are attached with a gold chain to a larger one, which rests on her palm, the way it appears on Thanos’ glove. It’s then all held together with a gold wrist cuff.
Here’s why we think they will work together in Endgame
While it seems unlikely that Johansson and Larson coordinated jewelry, it’s sweet that both of them wanted to mark the occasion with something custom-made. It speaks to how we hope their characters will interact on-screen together: We haven’t yet seen any dialogue between the two, but given that it looks like Carol might be wearing a pair of Natasha’s leather pants in the trailer, there’s bound to be a conversation there. And these are two heroes we need to see fight together.
