The 1 Thing Princess Diana Wouldn’t Like About Meghan Markle

It’s so obvious that Prince Harry misses his mother, Princess Diana—he still talks about her all the time. Most recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did a sweet tribute to mothers that included subtle references to Diana, including her favorite flower, forget-me-nots.

Prince Harry was only 12 years old when Princess Diana tragically died in a car accident in Paris. The royal has so many regrets about that time—that he rushed off the phone the last time he spoke to his mother, for example. But now that the Duke of Sussex has married the love of his life and become a father, Prince Harry has one more regret—the fact that his mother will never meet his family.

Everyone knows that Princess Diana would have cherished and doted upon her grandchildren. However, there is one thing about Meghan Markle’s life that Princess Diana would not have liked one bit.

Princess Diana and Meghan Markle would have gotten along well

They may come from different backgrounds, but there’s plenty of evidence to indicate that Princess Diana would have loved her daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle. The two women have more in common than you’d think. For one thing, they’re both unafraid to speak their minds even when it isn’t the “proper thing” to do. Meghan Markle has faced plenty of criticism about being too political or ignoring too many royal rules. Princess Diana was accused of the same.

Even though Princess Diana grew up as part of the aristocracy, she still stayed so humble and down-to-Earth, even when she wed Prince Charles. That’s the precise reason everyone started calling her the People’s Princess. Comparisons between Meghan Markle and Princess Diana are numerous—both were women who cared little for public opinion and stayed true to themselves.

There’s one thing about Meghan Markle’s life that Princess Diana would have hated

Meghan Markle may have found a great love, but that doesn’t mean her life is perfect. Unfortunately, the Duchess of Sussex shares something else in common with her late mother-in-law, and it’s not a good thing.

Princess Diana was relentlessly hounded by the press and some even claim that’s the cause of her untimely death. In the same way, Meghan Markle has become a person of interest to the media, with her every move being photographed and scrutinized. Royal fans insist that this is an occupational hazard. But when is it too much?

Princess Diana would have been understanding and sad about the media attention on Meghan Markle. She may have been able to offer advice for managing it, or at the very least would have been an understanding person that Meghan could talk to about all the pressure.

Meghan Markle is planning to use her fame for good

Despite the immense demands of public scrutiny, Princess Diana managed to use her fame as a source of good to draw attention to causes she cared about. It seems that Meghan Markle is following in these wise footsteps, especially when she created the sussexroyal Instagram account, which already has more than 8 million followers. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are advancing the knowledge of causes they care about thanks to all the media attention.

It seems like exactly what Princess Diana would want them to do. There’s no doubt that Princess Diana is so proud of her son and his beautiful bride.
