The 1 Thing Tia Mowry Wishes You Knew About Her

When most people think about Tia Mowry, they probably picture an adorable adolescent decked out in 90s apparel and playing opposite her twin sister Tamera on the hit sitcom Sister, Sister. But it’s been a long time since Mowry starred in that show and things have changed — a lot.

Now Tia Mowry Hardrict is all grown up and thriving with a family of her own. This married mother-of-two is also working on multiple projects, including appearing in the heartwarming family show Reunion on Fox and releasing weekly web uploads of her YouTube series, Tia Mowry’s Quick Fix.

Tia Mowry survived child stardom

Not all child stars go on to have successful careers as adults, but Tia Mowry is an exception to that rule. After a producer saw her and twin sister Tamera on the set of Full House with their brother, who was also an actor, he ended up creating the show Sister, Sister just for them. And it was a huge success.

Thanks to her long-lasting career, Tia Mowry Hardrict has managed to amass $4 million of net worth and remains beloved in Hollywood. But there is one thing she wishes you knew about her.

She’s got a secret side people don’t always see

Making the transition from child star to adult actress can be difficult, especially when fans are used to seeing a celebrity in one certain way. Tia Mowry Hardrict has experienced these challenges firsthand and sometimes wishes people would realize she’s all grown up now.

“I’m seen as the funny girl, or the sweet girl,” Tia Mowry Hardrict said during an interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “But sometimes I just want to feel a little sexy, you know? I’m a woman and I want to dress up and look glamorous too.”

Mowry Hardrict also likes to show off her assertive side while simultaneously being vulnerable. It’s a balance of being true to herself and still maintaining those professional qualities she’s known for.

Tia Mowry has a healthy perspective on life and motherhood

It’s not just nostalgic fans who have a hard time seeing Tia Mowry as more than just a sweet and innocent girl — she’s also been working hard at maintaining her self-identity even though she’s a wife, a mother, and an actress.

“I’ve been focusing a lot on self-care lately,” Mowry Hardrict admitted. “Society tells us [women] we need to do it all. But sometimes, we just really need a bubble bath!”

Instead of falling victim to the impossible task of achieving balance, Tia Mowry Hardrict realizes that not every day or every week will be perfect. But she’s committed to always giving her best effort at whatever task and realizing that there’s got to be some give and take.

“I realized it will never be even, so I stopped feeling guilty about getting everything done. Instead, I have a healthy perspective that some days I’ll feel like an incredible supermom and others it’s like everything goes wrong,” Mowry-Hardrict said. “It’s about letting go of guilt,” she continued. “If there’s a night I don’t put the kids to bed, I don’t feel bad, I just know tomorrow will be different.”

It sounds like this former child star has so much figured out.
