Here’s What The 1975 Fans Are Saying About ‘Frail State of Mind’

The 1975 is back with another single for fans to cry to. “Frail State of Mind” premiered Oct. 24, 2019, and fans shared their feedback online. (Don’t worry — it’s mostly positive.) Here’s what listeners are saying about The 1975’s third single off of their upcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form.

Being a 1975 fan is a whirlwind of emotions. Earlier in 2019, the group released their traditional title song. This time, however, it was layered with a speech by climate change activist, Greta Thunberg. Then, The 1975 released their angsty second single, “People,” complete with a flashy music video. Both will be available on the band’s upcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form.

Notes on a Conditional Form is a part of The 1975’s “Music For Cars” era, along with the already released album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. While there is no official premiere date for Notes on a Conditional Form, some speculate the album could launch early in 2020. Until then, fans can get a sneak peek, with happy-sounding sad songs like “Frail State of Mind.”

In between live festival performances and interviews, The 1975 released the third single off of their upcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form. During an interview with NME, Matty Healy elaborated about the group’s latest song, entitled “Frail State of Mind.”

“I think [this song is] the perfect example of when a ‘Brief Inquiry’ happened…[when] it all starts to feel very big,” Matty Healy said, “We were always reaching for the stars creatively. So, there’s that but it was almost like we kind of just closed the door on the world a little bit and just went into this record.”

“I think there was like a maybe a fragility to us because maybe we were a little bit frightened or something. And I think that, well I mean the song’s called ‘Frail State of Mind’, it’s about anxiety… it’s quite somber,” the artist continued. Within a week, “Frail State of Mind” earned over a million plays on Spotify. Fans raced to Twitter, sharing their love for this new song.
