The 3 Avengers Fans Would Most Love to See Kill Thanos in ‘Avengers: Endgame’

While Captain Marvel’s presence in Avengers: Endgame has led many speculators to believe that she will deliver the final blow in the battle against Thanos, fans argue that this would not be the most satisfying way to rid of his threat.

Before going into the three characters that many would love to watch kill the megalomaniac, we first have to assume that another colossal battle between Thanos and the Avengers will occur. Thanos’ narration in the trailer – while building great anticipation – alludes to such a confrontation, but we cannot know for sure.

For the sake of this article, let’s first assume that another epic, action-packed fight sequence will occur at the close of Endgame and, then, that one of the Avengers will get to end Thanos once and for all. Even though it will, of course, be a team effort, certain characters seem more deserving of killing Thanos than others.

3) Captain America / Steve Rogers

With the knowledge that Chris Evans will be leaving the MCU (so he says) following Avengers: Endgame, sending him off with such an empowering “bang” would be satisfying. It would feel as if the Russo Brothers provided the character with a cinematic representation of the actor’s dedication to and impressive work within the MCU.

Steve Rogers is also the epitome of all that is right and good in this world. Thus, allowing the antithesis to Thanos’ persona to win in the end would also be quite the symbolic gesture. While Captain America may be one of the more satisfying characters to watch deliver this supposed final blow, there are others who seem a bit more deserving.

2) Thor

While Thor and his brother Loki have not always been the closest of friends or the most loyal of siblings, they are still brothers. Thanos killed Loki right in front of Thor. For once, Loki tried to do the right thing, and he died because of it.

When Thanos won at the end of Infinity War, it was as if Loki’s final sacrifice was in vain. Thor is one character who should have the chance to rewrite this wrong first-hand. Thor, throughout his time with the MCU, has lost multiple loved ones. However, he has always remained committed to the cause and, due to that fact alone, he is more than deserving of the final blow.

1) Iron Man / Tony Stark

Peter Parker literally disintegrated while expressing his fear wrapped inside Tony Stark’s arms. If anyone has a bone to pick with Thanos, it is Iron Man. While putting Iron Man in the number one slot was a tough decision, as he and Peter Parker’s father-son dynamic is relatively new to the MCU, Parker represents more than a loss.

Parker is one of the only individuals that Stark has a vulnerable spot for. Stark sees him as a protege, and a child he must protect, and he failed to do the latter. He failed to save Spider-Man. Now, Tony is on a mission to get him back, return him to his Aunt May, and once again, continue to be a mentor for to the boy who took down his cold exterior defenses.

Iron Man also started the entire Avengers saga, which only adds to the reasoning behind his place in the number one slot.

Honorable Mention

Ant-Man: Many fans believe it would be funny if Ant-Man crawled inside Thanos’ body and expanded once within, blowing up the supervillain. While this is mostly a funny fan theory circling around on the internet for humor’s sake, it deserved an honorable mention.
