Maintaining a relationship is hard enough without everyone assuming that you and your significant other are on the edge of a breakup. But recently, Randolph posted something that was bound to shut up the naysayers.

How did Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph get together?

Underwood and Randolph met on Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. The two had an instant connection, but Underwood was set on exploring all of his options. As time went on, it became clear that Randolph was his front runner. Even when the other girls accused her of wanting to be the Bachelorette, Underwood stayed by her side.

In the end, the former football player ended up completely breaking protocol and choosing Randolph while he still had two other girls in the competition.

Unfortunately for the Bachelor, Randolph just wasn’t feeling him as much as he was her and decided to leave the show. Upset by her decision, Underwood threatened to quit the reality show as well.

Eventually, Underwood was able to talk Randolph into staying on the show and continuing to date him as long as he promised not to propose. Romantic, right?

Colton Underwood didn’t propose

Most Bachelor couples go back into the real world as an engaged pair. But Underwood and Randolph barely started off as boyfriend and girlfriend. And they still don’t live together.

“We are trying to do everything as normal as possible,” Underwood told Extra once his season ended. “I don’t think you realize how many important steps you miss in the Bachelor process, which is nothing against them. We want to make sure we do this the right way. Statistically speaking, for Bachelors, it’s not very good odds, so I think us going against what other Bachelor and Bachelorette couples have done is probably going to work out in our favor.”

“We both feel like … living our separate lives but still coming together at the end of the day is what’s most important for us and what’s the right step for where we’re at in our relationship.”

What does Cassie Randolph have to say to the haters?

Randolph is not usually one to address rumors, but the talk surrounding her and Underwood had gotten so intense that she had to take to Instagram to clarify a few things.

“Colton and I are very happy and our relationship is in a good place,” she posted in a statement. “Is our relationship perfect? No, it is very normal with its ups and downs and compromises. Despite the microscope on our relationship, we are trying to say focused on what is important and grow in the direction of getting stronger and closer every day. We know that in order for us to work, we need to focus on each other and not the craziness that sometimes surrounds us, and stay grounded. We are good!”

She went on to describe how challenging it has been to be in a public relationship, but ultimately wanted fans to know that she and her boyfriend were 100% fine.

“Colton and I are happy in our relationship and taking things at our own pace,” she wrote. “At the end of the day, this is about the two of us and our real lives.”
