‘The Bachelor: Colton Says His Final Rose Wasn’t a Hard Choice

Colton never actually got a chance to give out a final rose (until the finale), but if he did, it would have gone to Cassie. Typically, when Bachelors and Bachelorettes are making their final decision, it’s an emotionally trying process.

Colton was definitely emotional breaking up with Tayshia and Hannah G., but he seemed to be sticking to his decision no matter what. When he was breaking up with Hannah, though, he did tell her he wasn’t sure if he was making the right choice. Hannah told him that she was a sure thing, that she was already planning to move wherever he’d like her to move and start her life with him. They held each other as they cried.

But during the finale, when Hannah had a chance to have a conversation with Colton for the first time since they broke up, she asked him if it was really true that he’d be thinking about Cassie while he was with other girls. He said yes.

Colton says choosing Cassie was not a hard choice

Shortly after the final episode, Colton and Cassie did an interview with Extra TV. The interviewer asked Colton if it was a had choice choosing Cassie over Hannah and Tayshia.

“Honestly, after my conversation with her and her ending things with me, it wasn’t that hard of a decision. I mean leading up until that point, yes, it was, and I knew as it was going on it was going to continue to get difficult, but I knew the moment that she was leaving that I didn’t want to leave the show without her. So that made up my mind very quickly, and I’m glad she did what she did,” said Colton.

So up until the moment Cassie had broken up with him he wasn’t completely sure who he’d be giving his final rose to. If Hannah’s fantasy suite had been first and she would have broken up with him would he have chased after her? Colton says no. He says he chose Cassie because of her kind heart and the similarities they share.

“Just realizing how incredible and how special she was in Singapore and really for me just figuring out what’s the best fit and seeing all of our similarities like we are very, very similar in a lot of great ways. You know they always say opposites attract but I don’t think that’s really the case for us. That doesn’t really apply to our relationship,” said Colton. “Our morals, our values, our beliefs, they really line up. We’re active people but she’s a sweetheart, she’s one of the kindest souls and that might not have shown there but whenever I was with her I just felt loved, I really did, it was just a feeling that I had, and we’re happily in love now. I’m very, very excited to be with her.”

Colton’s borderline savage message to Tayshia and Hannah G.

“As far as being blindsided, I’ll say this over and over, it’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette–it’s gonna happen. You can’t ask somebody not to blindside you when they’re trying to remain open and have other relationships. That’s disclosed to everybody. I don’t know. I wish them well. They’re great people and I hope that they find their happiness one day.”
