‘The Bachelor’: Colton Underwood Guest Starred on Chris Harrison and Lauren Zima’s Nightly Coronavirus ‘Group Dates’ to Talk About His Experience
The Bachelor host and producer Chris Harrison and Entertainment Weekly Producer and Reporter Lauren Zima began a Group Date nightly chat last week on Instagram. Since the postponement of Clare Crawley‘s season of The Bachelorette due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the two producers sit by their fire every evening at 9:30 p.m. EST and go live on Instagram.
At first, it was only the two of them answering viewer questions, but now they are adding in nightly guests and other couples. On March 21, 2020, Colton Underwood joined Harrison and Zima to talk about his experience with the coronavirus.
What are ‘The Bachelor’ Colton Underwood’s coronavirus symptoms?
The first question Zima asked Underwood was how he knew he should get tested.
“I had a headache, body ache, terrible night sweats, and shortness of breath,” Underwood answered Zima. “The fever was gone within two days.”
After Underwood tested positive for the coronavirus, he began taking Tylenol. However, he was discouraged by the amount of information — he said, “it’s overwhelming.” Medical professionals told him that Tylenol was ideal over ibuprofen to treat the virus.
He is currently staying with Cassie Randolph and her family. The former bachelor is isolated on the third floor. Randolph brings him meals, meds, and coffee.
How did the former ‘Bachelor’ Colton Underwood contract the coronavirus?
“Who knows how I got it, where I got it, when I got it?” Underwood told Zima and Harrison during the live video.
Underwood shared the news of his positive test on March 20, 2020, via Instagram and Twitter. He explained that he wanted to tell his followers so that they would know young people are not immune to the virus. Underwood still has no idea how he contracted it.
“If I weren’t here with the Randolphs, with Cassie and her family, I wouldn’t be good,” he added. “They have been amazing and supportive.”
He feels it is important not to make people feel bad for contracting the virus. The former football tight end joked with Randolph that the quarantine is a “hometown happy couple,” date.
Underwood plans to rock his stubble beard until after the pandemic is over.
What is Chris Harrison’s favorite thing about ‘The Bachelor’?
During these nightly Instagram live videos, Harrison and Zima both answer viewer questions. Last night’s burning question was directed toward Harrison. He admitted that his favorite thing about producing The Bachelor is the first night of every season.
“It’s this amazing nostalgia,” he explained about the first night. “We really are a family. We love each other. Night one is a really special night. That energy is there. It’s a new beginning. The mansion is all set up.”
Hopefully, we will get to see and feel that energy soon when Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette premieres. For right now, it is postponed due to the coronavirus until further notice.
