‘The Bachelor’: Coronavirus was Just What Peter Weber’s Family Needed to Get Back on Good Terms
Peter Weber had a pretty rough season of The Bachelor. Not only did he ultimately end up alone, but he also closed his season with some tension with his family after going directly against their wishes and reuniting with Madison Prewett. Which is extremely troubling for Peter as he lives with his family.
Now that the U.S. government has instructed people not to gather in groups larger than 10 in order to slow down the spread of coronavirus (COVD-19), people are taking it upon themselves to self-isolate and stay indoors with their families.
Apparently, this was just what the Weber family needed to get over their issues.
What happened with Peter Weber’s mom Barbara?
Barbara Weber had a much bigger role in this season of The Bachelor than any other mom before. After spending time with both Prewett and Hannah Ann Sluss, Barbara burst into tears and pleaded with her son to choose Sluss. After he broke up with Sluss to pursue a relationship with Prewett, Barbara was not happy and she wasn’t afraid to show her displeasure.
She even sent blogger Reality Steve a DM about why exactly she felt so strongly about Prewett.
“Unfortunately what wasn’t shown was how it all started,” she wrote. “Madison had us wait 3 hours because she didn’t want to come in to meet us. My son begged her to do so. Once in she never offered an apology (keep in mind we had traveled across the world to meet both girls). When I asked her if she loved my son she said NO! And that she would not accept a proposal in 4 days. (Then what was she doing there?) My son Jack pointed out to Peter that in the small time he was there she was all about herself and not about Peter. Trust me when I say all that glitters is not gold!!! Thank you.”
She didn’t hold her tongue on the live “After the Final Rose” special either. When asked how she felt about Peter’s relationship with Prewett, she said it would have to fail.
“He’s going to have to fail to succeed,” she said. “That’s it. All his friends, his family, everyone that knows him knows that it’s not going to work. We’ve been trying to tell him.”
How has Peter Weber’s family been since the finale?
After the explosive finale, host Chris Harrison admitted that even he was shocked at the things Barbara said.
“It’s about optics, and it’s about how you put things. I’m a firm believer — you can be right and be completely wrong,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Look, if he’s going to be with her, and they’re going to break up, which is what you’re predicting, then so be it. Let them go break up! Who is hurt by this? The only harm done last night was this family being splintered last night on my show, and I hated it.”
How has coronavirus helped bring Weber’s family together?
According to Us Weekly, this forced time together is exactly what the Weber family needed.
“This time of quarantine is bringing the Weber family closer than ever before,” a source said. “They are using this time together to bond. During isolation, Peter and his family have been watching movies, playing board games, and cooking together.”
