‘The Bachelor’: Did Caelynn Miller-Keyes From Colton Underwood’s Season Wish She Was ‘The Bachelorette’?

The most recent season of The Bachelor was unlike anything fans expected. While there was the typical drama between contestants and many of the women left brokenhearted when Colton Underwood didn’t give them a rose, we’ll never forget Colton’s infamous fence jump for Cassie and the sudden way he said goodbye to the final two ladies. Now, Colton and Cassie seem happier than ever — but fans are left wondering if contestant Caelynn Miller-Keyes actually wanted to star in The Bachelorette after Colton’s season ended.

Caelynn was a frontrunner for much of the season, and her issues with Hannah B. were well-established. We know Hannah B. will be looking for love on the show next, but did Caelynn actually want the gig? Here’s what we know.

There were rumors throughout the season that Caelynn wanted to be The Bachelorette

Not only did Caelynn and Hannah B. have issues with each other from the start (they knew each other through pageantry before The Bachelor even began), but other women throughout the season seemed to call Caelynn out on not being there “for the right reasons.” There’s no doubt Caelynn truly felt for Colton and was heartbroken when she didn’t receive a rose, but prior to that, she was still being thrown under the bus.

Us Weekly reminds us several of the other contestants including Tayshia and Kirpa, told Colton both Caelynn and Cassie were discussing the possibility of becoming the next Bachelorette after the show was over. They both mentioned that Caelynn and Cassie seemed excited about the opportunities their newfound fame would bring them when all was said and done, too. Caelynn and Cassie have since denied ever saying anything of the sort, but it still may have affected Colton’s relationship with Caelynn at the end of the day.

Caelynn said she would be ‘hesitant’ to star on the show

So, was Caelynn actually scheming to star on the show after her time with Colton ended? Given what she said after the show, it seems unlikely. Us Weekly reports she exclusively told the publication back in February, “I think I would be hesitant, just because this process sucked for me.” She then went on to add, “I mean, it was absolute hell for me.”

Caelynn even mentioned that the season was so difficult for her that she approached producers about possibly leaving the show. And of course, hearing the rumors that were spread about her made her time on reality TV even more difficult. “Because it was hard, it was emotional. It was so incredibly hard for me,” she reiterated. For that reason, we highly doubt we’ll ever see Caelynn searching for love on reality TV ever again.

How does Caelynn feel about Hannah B. taking the spotlight?

Caelynn and Hannah B. verbally duked it out during Colton’s season. And while they appeared to be cool with each other after having a frank discussion about their run-ins of the past, it was clear that though they could be civil, they would never be friends. Now, we know Hannah B. is preparing to take the spotlight as the next Bachelorette — and we’re all wondering how Caelynn really feels about her ex-friend finding love on TV.

To everyone’s surprise, Bustle reports Caelynn told Us Weekly that she’s actually really excited for Hannah B. “I’m super happy for her. She’s hilarious and completely herself, and I think we’ve never had a Bachelorette be so entirely herself,” she said. “It’s gonna be a different season just because you’ve never seen someone be so vulnerable and so authentically themselves.” It seems Caelynn also thinks an engagement is in store for Hannah at the end of her season, too. She believes Luke Parker, the first contestant introduced to Hannah, will be the winner.
