Colton Underwood said he didn’t talk to Aly Raisman before the show
The star of The Bachelor revealed that although he alluded to their relationship on the show, he didn’t give his ex a heads up. There is a reason why he didn’t reach out.
“I feel like the reason I didn’t was because I shared my experiences,” he said according to Us Weekly. “I talked about things that only pertained to my side of those experiences, whether it would be a relationship, whether it’s my family dynamic, whether it’s me talking about choices that I’ve made in the past.”
He added, “I would never speak on behalf of somebody or tell somebody’s else’s story … they didn’t sign up for the show, so it’s not fair for me to disclose anything on them.”
Underwood said he didn’t say Raisman’s name on The Bachelor but referred to her as his “first love”
The former football player didn’t name drop his ex on his season. “I wouldn’t say it was on the show,” he said on the podcast, LadyGang. “I would say it was my first love.”
Underwood also told The Hollywood Reporter that he doesn’t want to be a distraction to the work that Raisman is doing. “And out of respect for her and what she’s doing with her platform and how powerful her voice is,” he said “the last thing that I want to be is a distraction. I think it’s really important that we continue to support women that are really encouraging and making a movement, and making waves in their own ways.”
Fans still were able to pick up on who he was talking about especially when contestant Caelynn Miller-Keyes revealed to him that she was allegedly raped in college. He responded by saying his “first love” was a sexual assault survivor. Raisman was one of
Raisman said she doesn’t watch The Bachelor
The Olympic medalist revealed that she isn’t really keeping up with her ex on television. “I don’t watch the show. We broke up a couple of years ago and we really — we have not talked in a really, really long time,” Raisman told People.
She went on to show her support to Miller-Keyes for telling her story. “I am supportive of anybody that comes forward and especially for her to do that on national television, I really commend her for her bravery and I stand with her and I hope she’s getting a ton of support because she deserves it,” she said.
Well, it looks like Raisman has moved on from their relationship and fans now know why Underwood didn’t say her on same throughout the season.
