‘The Bachelor’: Former Bachelor Ben Higgins Doesn’t Agree with Cassie Randolph’s Breakup Tactics

It’s been four days and Bachelor Nation is still reeling from the dramatic breakup between Cassie Randolph and Bachelor Colton Underwood.

It all happened right before the couple was set to go into the fantasy suites. Underwood had pretty much decided that Randolph was the girl for him and the one that he would pick at the end of the whole competition. Randolph, on the other hand, had a completely different train of thought and ended things with the Bachelor.

Bachelor Nation has been sharing their thoughts about what happened on social media since the episode aired, and now Bachelor alum Ben Higgins has weighed in on the situation.

“I think she should have done something different with Colton,”Higgins said on Roses and Rose Live on Tuesday. “It was very clear that she was not into him.”

Higgins felt that Randolph should have gotten right to the point instead of making the breakup take so long.

“I think all she wanted to tell him was, ‘You’re a great guy, you’ve proven to be a great guy, but I’m just not that into you. And as a result, I need to leave,'” he said. “It felt like she was dancing around the subject, going, ‘This is too fast. This isn’t right for me. I just don’t know.’ She knew.”

Higgins credits the way that Randolph broke up with Underwood as part of why the tense moment went on for as long as it did.

“If she would have just told Colton, ‘This isn’t going to work, we’re not meant for each other,’ then Colton just has to say goodbye,” he continued. “He’s getting broken up with, and he can’t beg and he can’t scream for more.”

The former Bachelor believes that if Randolph had just ripped the band-aid off and said that the relationship between her and Underwood wasn’t right, then the whole fence jumping drama may have been avoided entirely.

“What Colton did, was he just fought for her, and I think that’s fair,” Higgins told the outlet. “He loves this woman. I don’t think she gave him the right explanation. She should have just left and said, ‘This isn’t going to work. “Shut that down.”

Could Randolph still win ‘The Bachelor’?

Though the couple seemingly broke up at the end of Monday night’s episode, there have been spoilers that suggest that Randolph actually wins the whole thing.

Last week, the paparazzi released pictures of Underwood leaving the gym with Gregg Sulkin who is dating Randolph’s sister.

“(SPOILER): Not that you didn’t know this 3 months ago, but yet again, social media spoils again,” professional Bachelor spoiler Reality Steve tweeted, along with the photo of Underwood and Sulkin. “Yeah, Colton’s working out with Jake Miller. But how about the third guy in the pic who just so happens to be the boyfriend of Cassie’s sister. Doh!”

Given these pictures and the fact that Underwood can’t really go on to choose one of the other contestants after publicly telling Randolph that he wanted it to be her at the end, no one is sure how this season will finish out.

Will Randolph come back and accept Underwood’s proposal? Will the Bachelor end the season alone? We’ll have to wait until Monday’s episode to see how it all plays out.
