‘The Bachelor’: Hannah G. Says Her Breakup With Colton Was Filled With Mixed Signals
Anyone who watched Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor knows Hannah Godwin was a major contender. She was awarded his first impression rose and it was obvious that the two had red hot chemistry.
It was shocking, then, when Colton decided to break up with Hannah G. (along with Tayshia Adams) to go chase after the woman who just broke up with him, Cassie Randolph. Hannah G.’s said in a number of post-season interviews that she was blindsided by the move. And what made matters worse was how contradictory Colton’s breakup with her was. It was so confusing to Hannah G., that she thought Colton was going to change his mind and come after her (production had her wait over a week in her hotel room after the breakup).
“[The breakup made]
Why Hannah G. thinks her breakup with Colton was so confusing
Hannah G. told Caridi that she thinks Colton was so contradictory in his breakup with her because he was working out, in the moment, how he was feeling. He was confused by everything, too. And he wasn’t sure, at the time, that he was making the right decision.
“I think he was just trying to work through his words and what he was feeling with me. But it sucked on my end because I was just being a listening ear and hearing what he was thinking and it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for but regardless he was like ‘I’m sitting next to somebody who loves me and I’m chasing somebody who doesn’t,’” said Hannah G.
In the end, Hannah G. is relieved it didn’t work out between her and Colton
At the end of the day, Hannah G. is glad she’s not with someone who’s lukewarm about her. She wants someone who’d jump a fence for her.
“Even though it sucks it’s also like ‘thank god I’m not with somebody who doesn’t want to be with me.’ They all deserve the same. You deserve to be with somebody who wants to be with you,” she said.
And, ultimately, she doesn’t blame Colton for the decision he made (just the way everything was executed). You can’t pick who you love.
“But it has to be his story,” she said. “He has to be in love with somebody. It’s not like ‘ok I’m mad at you because you don’t love me.’ It can’t work like that. But I kept getting mixed signals when he was breaking up with me and that’s what threw me off.”
