‘The Bachelor’: Hannah G. Thought Colton Would Change His Mind and Come After Her
Colton and Hannah G. had a very real connection on the last season of The Bachelor. When it was revealed during the finale that he was head-over-heels-all-in with Cassie, much of Bachelor Nation was shocked. We all thought Hannah G., from the moment she was awarded his first impression rose, was going to end up with Colton.
Hannah’s given several interviews about how real her feelings and heartbreak were. She says, though she is healing and doing much better today, that it was really tough for a while.
Hannah G. told Colton she thought he’d come after her
She even told him that she was sure that he’d come after her. She believed their connection was that strong–that he’d realize he made a mistake. While Colton was breaking up with Hannah, he had mentioned that he wasn’t sure if he was making the right decision. It wasn’t unreasonable for Hannah to think he might have come after her.
“What Cassie did to you was exactly what you did to me, and I was left with nothing. I thought that you were gonna chase me, as crazy as that sounds. I would tell one of the producers: ‘tell me to brush my hair if he comes like whatever in the next week.’ And you didn’t. I just didn’t have a reason to believe otherwise, and I just trusted you so much. I just take that word ‘falling in love’… I know that you have to follow your heart and that’s huge but for me, it has been really, really difficult. It’s not been fun,” she said to him.
In an interview with Access, Hannah elaborated on the thought that Colton would come after. She said she felt, for a while, that she had been in denial that their relationship had ended so quickly.
“I feel like, in the moment, I was so in denial. Whenever he just closed the door, I was just like ‘woah, that’s it.’ I was like ‘surely he’ll come back in,’ and in the following week and stuff. I was like ‘there’s just no way that it ended like that.’ It was just in a snap, and it did, and it was heartbreaking. It wasn’t fun,” she said.
Hannah G. doesn’t regret going on ‘The Bachelor’
Despite the pain, Hannah says she wouldn’t change the experience for the world. She said this very public heartbreak has taught her just how strong she is.
“It didn’t go the way that I wanted it to but I learned so much, so overall I would do it eight million times again. Because when do you get the chance to make yourself a priority and love a priority–I never had time for that but this gave me the chance to kind of do that,” she told Access.
