‘The Bachelor’: Is Colton Underwood Giving Back the Neil Lane Ring?
Boy meets girl and dates 20 other girls at the same time, boy sends other girls home, girl breaks up with boy and then boy wins her back. Isn’t that how all love stories go? No?
Well, that’s how Bachelor Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph’s relationship went. Though the two didn’t get engaged at the end of Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, they do seem to be quite in love and on the path to wedded bliss at some point.
The Neil Lane ring
Typically when a couple gets engaged on one of The Bachelor shows, they are given a Neil Lane ring. Since Randolph and Underwood had sort of a rocky ending to their season, they didn’t receive a Neil Lane ring at the end.
But Jimmy Kimmel changed all of that when the couple stopped by The Jimmy Kimmel show in March.
“I do feel like you guys kind of got cheated a little bit because of the way you went about this,” Kimmel said to the couple on his show. “Because they love to have you get engaged on television and part of the deal is you get the ring from Neil Lane. So this afternoon I was like, ‘This kind of sucks, they don’t get the ring from Neil Lane.’ So we called Neil Lane and so here, he sent the ring.”
Though they were given a ring on the show, Underwood didn’t propose.
Does Randolph like the Neil Lane ring?
An engagement ring is a pretty permanent thing, so it’s important that the woman that you give it to really loves it.
For this reason, Kimmel was quick to tell Underwood that he could switch the ring out if he wanted.
“If you don’t want that one you can pick out a different one, it doesn’t have to be that ring,” Kimmel said. “Or you know, go to a pawn shop and get loaded, I don’t know, whatever you guys want to do. That’s from Neil Lane. I’d like to take credit for it, but it’s really not mine.”
Which is a good thing because
“I just have a very particular idea in my mind,” she said on the show.
What kind of ring does Randolph want?
Though the former football player didn’t order the ring for his girlfriend, he does know what kind of ring she wants when the time comes.
“Cass wants a gold, simple band, with an oval-cut [stone],” he told the girls on Ladygang.
What’s next for Underwood and Randolph?
Marriage is certainly on the table for the new couple, but it’s something that they want down the line. In the future, they also want to live together.
“Our goal is to buy a house in Huntington Beach in the next year, but we probably won’t move in together until we’re engaged or married,” Underwood ttold People in a recent spread. “As much as I want her to live with me, it’s a big step and something we both take very seriously.”
Randolph has already moved to L.A. with her sister Michelle to be closer to Underwood who recently moved from Denver.
