‘The Bachelor’: Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan Are Both Moving to NYC Post-Breakup
The Bachelor relationships are not exactly known for lasting forever, but Kelley Flanagan and Peter Weber got together and broke up all before the next Bachelor even premiered. Now that the two are done, they are both trying to move on. Weirdly enough, that involves a move to NYC for both of them.
Kelley Flanagan and Peter Weber’s relationship
Flanagan and Weber actually met before his season of The Bachelor began. Though that chance encounter was special, it wasn’t enough to keep Flanagan on the show and she was eventually eliminated. After Weber completely botched his finale by choosing Hannah Ann Sluss, only to break up with her and date and break up with Madison Prewett, he and Flanagan rekindled their romance.
The two first sparked dating rumors after pictures of them together in Chicago leaked.
“You know, I am not incredibly shocked,” host Chris Harrison told E! News at the time. “I was a little surprised at the timing. I saw the pictures like everybody else, and I’m like, wait, he’s in Chicago? I thought he was dancing with Barb in his living room!”
As Bachelor couples do, Flanagan and Weber announced their breakup via Instagram.
“Love is a funny thing. It can make you feel on top of the world and it can make you feel a pain you wish didn’t exist,” Weber wrote. “I’m here to share that Kelley and I have decided to go our separate ways. While our relationship was filled with countless beautiful memories, our relationship simply didn’t work out in the end.
“Kelley is someone I will always have a special love for. Someone I have learned more from than she will ever understand,” he continued. “Someone I am so thankful came into my life and someone who I will always wish all of life’s greatest blessings on. These moments in life always hurt, but in my opinion that shows you it was worth the time you spent together. Thank you Kelley.”
Peter and Kelley are both moving to NYC
Flanagan and Weber had both been planning to move to New York City for some time and the move eventually became a point of contention.
“The move was the final straw in some ongoing issues in their relationship; the biggest of which was that they were not on the same page about how they approached relationships,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“There was growth that needed to happen from Peter that wasn’t happening,” the source continued.
On Jan. 7, Weber announced that he had made the move to NYC anyway.
“I got all this stuff packed up here, ready to go. New York, we coming,” he wrote on his Instagram story.
While Flanagan’s move is delayed, she recently revealed that she was still planning to go.
“2021 has been a rough start but if I’ve learned anything the last couple of days, it’s to keep pushing through no matter what life throws at you,” she wrote on Instagram on Jan. 10. “You can’t help what happens but you can choose how you react. It’s OK to not feel the best at times and honestly, it makes you appreciate the good things in life. The saying ‘when it rains it’s [sic] pours’ has definitely hit me with adjustments but this is just a chapter of my life! I’ll be in the Florida Keys until March then still making the move to New York!”
