‘The Bachelor’: Peter Weber’s Instagram Video of His Mom Dancing Proves They’re Doing Better Than Ever
Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor was one of the most dramatic yet. Fans knew Madison Prewett was one of the frontrunners from the start, but she started having doubts about their relationship after the Fantasy Suites week. This, of course, led to Prewett choosing to leave Peter and the show behind. And Peter ultimately proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss.
Unfortunately, the engagement didn’t last long. And while Sluss publicly roasted Peter, Peter’s own mother, Barbara, also condemned her son’s choices. This appeared to leave The Bachelor on the outs with his family — but now, it seems he and his mother are back on good terms. Here’s what he posted to Instagram.
Peter Weber’s mother, Barbara, never approved of Madison Prewett
Bachelor Nation has a love-hate relationship with Barb Weber. We know she adored Sluss and hoped Peter would pick her in the end — and she was incredibly ashamed of how Peter acted toward Sluss that resulted in the couple’s breakup. But it was Barb’s opinions of Prewett that had everyone divided.
Barb didn’t think Prewett was right for Peter, as the young woman left Peter’s family waiting during the hometown dates and seemed wishy-washy about the relationship in general. And People reports Barb explained to Life & Style that she has no regrets about what she said about Prewett.
“There’s nothing for me to apologize for,” Barb said. “Everyone thinks it’s just me … but it wasn’t just me. It’s the whole family. It’s not that we did not like Madison. My answer to that is I don’t know Madison. … I don’t know her well enough to form an opinion on such.”
Reports claimed Peter’s relationship with Barb was strained
We know Peter was ultra-close with his family, and he was living with his parents and younger brother when he went on The Bachelor. But it seems the on-screen spat with Barb may have put the mother and son at odds. A source told Entertainment Tonight that things were rocky between Peter and Barb after the finale of the show. Peter was even reportedly staying in a hotel instead of his home.
Chris Harrison also spoke about Peter’s state when everything was going down. “He’s having a tough time. He’s a little beat up,” Harrison told Entertainment Tonight. “I saw him immediately after the show, and I told you he was very upset. Yeah, he’s a little bit thrown off by this whole thing. And right now, he’s trying to concentrate on putting this all back together — his relationship with Madison, his relationship with his family.”
Peter posted a video of him and his mom dancing
So, how are Peter and Barb doing now? It looks like the current coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis may be bringing them closer. Us Weekly reports the family is quarantining together. “They are using this time together to bond. During isolation, Peter and his family have been watching movies, playing board games and cooking together,” the source noted.
Peter doesn’t post too much about his personal life to Instagram. But on March 13, he took to his Instagram Story to show that he and Barb are back on good terms, as she told him she loved him on-camera. And on March 20, he added a video of him and his mother dancing in their living room — and it seems to prove that they’ve totally squashed their feud.
“Is this how you Tik Tok? If I’m even half the parent my mom has been to me, my kids will be the luckiest in the world,” Peter captioned his post. “Spread love, I promise you’ll never regret it.”
We’re hoping the Weber family really is doing better than ever despite the trouble reality TV brought them. We’re looking forward to hearing more about Peter’s path in the future.
