‘The Bachelor’: Does This Producer’s Instagram Post Mean Colton’s Going to Propose to Cassie in May?
Television producer John Barra recently posted a photo of himself and former Bachelor Colton Underwood with a very suspicious caption.
“Interesting Wednesday when you have to run a task for @bachelorabc winner @coltonunderwood (and yes, he’s awesome!) #NoSpoilers #MaybeMay #ItsASecret #Mallorca #Bachelor #Reality,” he captioned the photo.
The photo has Bachelor fans on pins and needles wondering what the secret could be. Luckily, Barra included a handful of hashtags that may provide us some clues.
The first hashtag, #NoSpoilers, hints that whatever’s going on is a secret. Bachelor fans are, of course, assuming Underwood has a secret surprise for his girlfriend Cassie Randolph up his sleeve. Could it be a secret engagement?
The next hashtag, #MaybeMay, suggests that whatever this surprise is will take place in May. So, no matter what this secret is, we hopefully won’t have to wait much longer than a month to find out.
The #Mallorca hashtag is an interesting one. Mallorca is one of Spain’s Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. It’s known for its resorts, limestone mountains, Roman and Moorish remains, and beautiful beaches. Is Underwood planning a surprise trip to Mallorca so he can propose to Randolph with the help of TV producer John Barra?! There is, of course, the chance that Underwood is simply planning a trip for him and Randolph, but why would he need a producer’s help?
John Barra doesn’t work on ‘The Bachelor’
Bachelor fan site Accept this Rose points out that it’s interesting that Underwood is working with Barra on this secret project since he doesn’t work for The Bachelor.
“Barra’s post becomes even more interesting when you consider that he and Colton have never actually worked together before. Barra is a producer, but it’s for shows like Nickelodeon’s Paradise Run, Genius Junior and Beat the Clock. As far as we can tell, he has never done work for The Bachelor,” reads the site.
The article goes on to surmise that perhaps Underwood elicited Barra’s help for this secret surprise that will take place in “maybe May” because that’s when Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette will take place so many of his go-to producer friends will be busy.
Here’s what we know
Based on the photo’s caption and poster, we know that Barra is a TV producer but not a Bachelor producer. He works in the reality TV world, but often in the game show realm (could Underwood and Randolph appear on one of his game shows?). Underwood has asked Barra to help him with a secret surprise that could occur in May, and it has something to do with the Spanish Island of Mallorca.
Underwood/Randolph fans certainly hope the surprise is a proposal but, as fans of Underwood’s season of The Bachelor know, the couple distinctly didn’t get engaged during the show’s finale for one specific reason: they wanted to take things slow. They’ve only been together since the show ended for about four months now. It wouldn’t make sense for them to jump into an engagement now when they were so adamant about taking their time and not adhering to the show’s typical rules. We’ll just have to wait until (maybe) May to see what the secret surprise is.
