‘The Bachelor’: Why Arie Luyendyk Jr. Told Jef Holm to Pay Up
Most fans probably place bets on who the star of The Bachelor will end up with and how long will the relationship last. That’s because the show doesn’t exactly have a great track record. But things got pretty heated between two reality stars when one decided to make a bet on how the other would fare on the show. Find out why Arie Luyendyk Jr. told Jef Holm to “pay up” and more about their history.
Jef Holm said Arie Luyendyk Jr. wouldn’t stay with anyone for a year
There were many people who weren’t rooting for Arie Luyendyk Jr. when it was announced he would be the new star of The Bachelor. One of those people was Jef Holm, who was on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette with Luyendyk Jr. Maynard ended up choosing Holm over the race car driver.
Holm tweeted on Jan. 1, 2018, “Doesn’t matter who gets out of the limo…I’ll give 5k to the charity of
@chrisbharrison’s choice if @ariejr lasts 1 year with anyone.” Well, with the new year comes a check in with who was right about the reality star’s dating life.
Arie Luyendyk Jr. told Holm to pay up
The star must have been really upset by Holm’s challenge because he was right on time to remind him about the bet. He tweeted at Holm on Jan. 1, 2019, “Pay up
@jefholm… Put that trust fund money into something positive instead of bottle service. A**hole.”
The two reality stars’ history doesn’t stop there. Reality Steve previously reported that there were “not verified” claims that Luyendyk Jr. was into partying and “hook up with sorority chicks.” The source said he was also a “wing-manning for Jef.”
Luyendyk Jr. denied these claims. “I’ve actually never even been inside a sorority house,” he tweeted. He then addressed his relationship with Holm. “As for him…I stopped being friends with him years ago because he’s disgusting.”
He is now marrying Lauren Burnham and they are expecting their first child
The former star’s ending to his season didn’t exactly go as planned. He picked Becca Kufrin then dumped her in the finale for runner-up, Lauren Burnham. They have since gotten engaged and announced they are expecting their first child. So Holm’s bet didn’t specify who Luyendyk Jr. had to make it to a year with and was proven wrong.
Burnham and Luyendyk Jr. previously announced they will be getting married in Hawaii on Jan. 12. The expecting mother also revealed how she found out she is pregnant.
“I kind of had a feeling that I might be pregnant. So my friend insisted on bringing a pregnancy test over,” she said according to TV Guide. “Arie came out with the test in his hand and tears in his eyes. He was like, ‘You’re pregnant!'”
Holm has yet to respond to Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s tweet about giving money to a charity.
