This season is making a big change with Tayshia Adams being the new star. Chris Harrison teased her first full episode of The Bachelorette. Find out why fans brought up strip dodgeball and what Harrison had to say to them.
Men played strip dodgeball on ‘The Bachelorette’
Every season of The Bachelorette has a group date involving a sport. This season the cast was asked to play dodgeball against each other to win and get more time with Clare Crawley.
“I’ve been looking forward to this because I really do want a man who has some balls!” Crawley told the men. “I want a man who will fight for me. A man that knows how to compete and that wants to win me over.”
It was later revealed the men will be playing multiple rounds, and the team that lost would have to strip off a piece of clothing. One team lost and ended the date in just their jockstraps.
Fans were upset by this date and Crawley received backlash for it. One tweeted, “@Clare_Crawley It’s awful you had the guys take off their clothes if The [sic] bachelor asked the women do the same things all heck would break loose. You were wrong. Juan Pablo should have had you strip.”
Crawley responded by posting a picture of Juan Pablo Galavis, Andi Dorfman, and Lucy Aragon in their underwear as they hold up signs reading “adopt me” with an arrow pointing down at a dog. She then added, “You mean like this?”
Clare Crawley left and Tayshia Adams stepped in
Crawley quickly formed a bond with Dale Moss. Harrison eventually said the other men noticed and they can’t continue on this path. So Crawley decided to pick Dale. Dale proposed to her and they left.
Adams was brought in as the new star of the show. We saw her get out of the limo and talk to Harrison.
“I just know that this process moves very quickly and you start to invest a lot of feelings really early on,” Adams told Harrison. “I don’t know if that’s the case for some of them. And if so I’m more than happy to have that conversation with them, if they don’t feel like it’s the right time for them. Or if I’m not right for them.”
Chris Harrison joked about the men stripping
Harrison posted a new picture of him being with Adams on Instagram on Nov. 9. She is holding a basketball and he captioned it with “We all start a new week with a new….Bachelorette! As @tayshia and I look ahead a reminder we’re back tomorrow (Tuesday) night #TheBachelorette.”
Fans wondered if the basketball was a clue to a date. They also wondered if it will be like the dodgeball date.
“Please tell me you guys are NOT playing ‘strip basketball’!!” one fan wrote in the comments. “No but we have more balls,” Harrison replied. “No more dodgeball please!” another fan wrote. “I make no promises,” he answered.
It looks like fans still don’t approve of the strip dodgeball date. Harrison is having fun joking about the episode.
