‘The Bachelorette’: Chris Harrison Said He Gave Luke P. Many Chances to Redeem Himself on ‘Men Tell All’
Chris Harrison is very aware that Luke P. (or Luke Parker) doesn’t have many fans. He talked about why he gave Parker many chances to redeem himself on Men Tell All and if it worked. Find out what The Bachelorette host said and more.
Luke Parker was at the center of a lot of drama this season
If there was a “villain” this season of The Bachelorette it would definitely be Parker. That’s because he was at the center of a lot of drama.
Some of the biggest moments were between him and Brown. He wasn’t happy with hearing that she went naked bungee jumping with Garrett Powell. Parker told Brown that “It really pissed me off” and called it a “boneheaded mistake.” Brown responded by saying “You don’t own my body. You don’t own me. It’s my body.”
That wasn’t their last heated discussion. He also tried to talk about sex during the Fantasy Suites week and things took a turn.
“Like, I totally have all the trust in the world for you, but at the same time I just want to make sure we’re on the same page,” he said in the episode. “Like if you told me you were having sex, or you had sex with one or multiple of these guys, I’d be wanting to go home, 100%. But if that’s something you’re not going through then I’m just going to continue to grow the relationship and move on.”
Brown wasn’t happy with this at all. “It’s just that you’re questioning me, that you’re judging me and feel like you have the right to, and don’t at this point,” she said. “And I get when you like, care for somebody that you don’t want to think about somebody being intimate with another person, but guess what. Sex might be a sin out of marriage, but pride is a sin too, and I feel like this is like a pride thing.”
She sent him home but in the previews for the next episode, it’s shown that Parker returns. Fans have been torn on whose side to take in the situation.
Chris Harrison said he thought punches would be thrown
There was also drama between Parker and the other men in the house. Things will get heated between Tyler Cameron, Jed Wyatt, Peter Weber, and Parker when he returns for the rose ceremony after getting sent home.
“When the other guys walked up, I thought maybe [someone will throw a punch], because I know they had just had enough. And when they realized that he had been kicked off and he just kind of bamboozled them all and slid into that rose ceremony, they were pissed,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
Harrison said he gave Luke P. so many chances
Men Tell All lets the men speak more about what happened in the house. Chris Harrison admitted he wanted to give Parker chances after being the villain this season.
“I gave Luke so many chances tonight to redeem himself, to fix things, to fall on the sword,” the host told People. “He never really got there, I don’t think.”
Harrison thinks being a father helped him with this situation. “I think being a dad really came into play tonight, it really came in handy,” he said. “I could have taken Luke to task, I could have cut him down at any time and gotten contentious. But I felt like I was going to get more from him and get more out of him if I kept my cool.”
Fans will have to see what Parker does with those chances, and what the rest of the men have to say to him.
