‘The Bachelorette’: Clare Crawley’s Ex-Fiancé Thinks the Show Would Be Totally Different Without Dale Moss
So far on this season of The Bachelorette, Clare Crawley has fallen head over heels for contestant Dale Moss. The third episode of Season 16 of The Bachelorette all but confirmed that as Crawley continues to fall for Moss, she will be replaced by Tayshia Adams. While appearing on The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast with Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti, Crawley’s ex-fiancé Benoit Beauséjour-Savard revealed his thoughts on the season.
Benoit Beauséjour-Savard is still friends with Clare Crawley
Beauséjour-Savard and Crawley originally met on The Bachelor Winter Games, a spinoff series that aired in 2018. Beauséjour-Savard proposed and Crawley accepted, but the two mutually broke off their engagement a few months later.
Still, the two have stayed friends through the years, and Beauséjour-Savard actually filmed a segment with Crawley for her season of The Bachelorette. However, the clip never made it to air.
Because Beauséjour-Savard knows Crawley so well, he does not feel the show is representing Crawley’s true nature.
“I would say this is not the Clare that I know. Put yourself into her shoes, you’re doing quarantine in a resort. This show’s a bit [of a] mindf**k, you’re been there, it’s a lot to manage and I feel like at some point maybe she was overwhelmed by all of this,” he said on the Almost Famous podcast.
What he thinks about Dale Moss
From watching the show, Beauséjour-Savard thinks The Bachelorette does not reflect the “Clare” he knows “in real life.”
Beauséjour-Savard said, “She felt super strong feelings with Dale and then this whole thing played out… There’s a little difference in the Clare that is shown on TV than the Clare that I know in real life.”
Crawley’s ex-fiancé thinks that part of this is because of Moss, saying Season 16 of The Bachelorette would be a “total different season if Dale wasn’t there.”
However, he does not doubt Crawley’s feelings for Moss.
“I feel like she’s just so passionate. She knows what she wants,” he said.
What he thinks about Clare Crawley leaving the show for Dale Moss
At the end of the third episode of Season 16 of The Bachelorette, it is hinted that in the fourth episode, Crawley will leave the show because she has fallen for Moss. Beauséjour-Savard thinks that it was not entirely Crawley’s decision to leave the show.
“So I think, like, ultimately it was production that came at her and said, ‘You know what, Clare, I feel like you’re not giving it a fair chance, you’re really into Dale, so we want you to be happy and they had like a common agreement on her maybe leaving the show but I feel like it wasn’t her ultimate decision,” he said on the Almost Famous podcast.
While Adams will become the new lead on this season of The Bachelorette, Beauséjour-Savard does not think Crawley’s season is done yet.
“I feel like there’s going to be more, they’re going to keep us in touch with what Clare has been going through,” Beauséjour-Savard told listeners. “It’s like two seasons at once at one point and hopefully we’re gonna see how it goes for these two… it’s not the end.”
