‘The Bachelorette’: Did Clare Crawley and Dale Moss Have the Shortest Relationship in Show History?

Bachelor relationships aren’t exactly known for their longevity but there are some couples who fans just hope will go the distance. Clare Crawley and Dale Moss seemed like they had what it took to make it at least to the altar. Crawley ended her season of The Bachelorette early because she just knew Moss was the one. But now, just months after the finale, the two have split. Was this the fastest breakup in Bachelorette history?

Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’ relationship

Crawley almost immediately had feelings for Moss after meeting him. As soon as he stepped out of the limo, she mused that she had met her future husband.

“That was something that you can’t really anticipate with anybody, you don’t know,” she told Entertainment Tonight after the premiere. ”[But I didn’t know] like, was he feeling that? Are we on the same page?

“Usually in my experience, as relationships go, there’s always somebody that’s ahead of the other person,” she continued. “It’s really rare that you connect on that same page at the same time, so it was just — it was one of those magical things that I guess just happens.”

Throughout the season, Crawley showed Moss clear favoritism and chose to spend time with him over all of the other men. Eventually, host Chris Harrison stepped in and let Crawley know that the season could not keep going like that. So, Crawley cut things short and told Moss that she wanted to be with him. Luckily for her, Moss felt the same way and the two got engaged.

Clare Crawley and Dale Moss’ breakup

Many fans had been wondering if something was up between Moss and Crawley for a few days.

Instagram account @Bacheloring claimed that Crawley and Moss had recently been deleting pictures of one another and that Moss deleted his comment that read “I’ll never leave you” under one of Crawley’s photos, according to Heavy.

On Tuesday, Moss confirmed the rumors on Instagram.

“I wanted to share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we’ve received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time,” he wrote. “We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself – something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another.”

Is this the quickest breakup in ‘Bachelorette’ history?

Though five months is rather quick to end an engagement, it’s not the quickest ending the show has seen. Hannah Brown ended her engagement with Jed Wyatt before she even made it to the “After the Final Rose” ceremony because she found out that he had a girlfriend the whole time he was on The Bachelorette.

On The Bachelor, several Bachelors have broken up with their fiance’s before the “After the Final Rose” special. Peter Weber and Arie Luyendyk Jr. left their fiance’s for their runner-ups shortly after getting engaged. So, Crawley definitely does not hold the record for the shortest relationship.
