‘The Bachelorette’: Did Hannah Brown Admit to Having Sex on the Show?
Hannah Brown has officially begun her Bachelorette journey to finding everlasting love. Or at least a relationship that looks cute on Instagram for a couple months and earns her lots of ad revenue.
Last night, we saw Brown meet the 30 men who were vying for her heart and while that was interesting, what really sparked our interest was the promo for the weeks to come.
It was filled with pretty much everything you could ask for from a reality television show. Professions of love, tears, screaming, and more.
But perhaps the most shocking thing about the promo was Brown’s admission of having sex.
Did Brown have sex on the show?
Sex has been a big topic of discussion lately in the Bachelor world. Mostly because last season’s Bachelor, Colton Underwood, was a virgin so the show liked to bring up sex and virginity any chance that they could.
Brown was okay with dating a virgin when she went on Underwood’s season and has spent a lot of time talking about her Christian values.
So when the promo clip showed Brown talking openly about having sex, fans were a bit taken aback.
“I believe that sex was made for a man and a woman in marriage,” she says on the promo. “But I am having physical relationships. And honestly like, I have had sex, and Jesus still loves me. How dare I be judged by a man?”
In the same clip, she defends herself to an unknown man.
“I don’t owe you anything at this point,” she says.
Did Brown have sex with one of the contestants?
It is unclear whether Brown was saying that she had sex on the show or that she simply had had sex before in her life. Either way, it’s not something that most Bachelorettes typically talk so openly about.
Have other Bachelors and Bachelorettes had sex on the show?
In the Fantasy Suites, a lot of the Bachelors and Bachelorettes have sex.
“Almost every Bachelor has sex with everyone he goes into the Fantasy Suites with,” season 10 Bachelorette Andi Dorfman wrote in her Hollywood Reporter essay. “Obviously there are some exceptions, but regardless, you never hear anything of it.”
“If you’re not having sex, you’re probably not getting chosen, unless you’re waiting for religious reasons or personal reasons.”
But outside of the Fantasy Suites, sex is pretty uncommon.
Courtney Robertson and Ben Flajnik had sex in the Fantasy Suites, but in her book, “I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends,” she also admitted that they had sex in the ocean earlier in the season.
On Juan Pablo Galavis’ season, Clare Crawley alluded to the fact that she and Galavis had sex in the ocean, as well.
Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe famously had sex with Nick Viall before the Fantasy Suites and was publicly bashed for it.
“I think it’s a double standard, for sure,” she said in an interview with People. “I don’t feel ashamed about the act of sex in the relationship.”
