‘The Bachelorette’: Haley Stevens Hates This Lie Jed Wyatt Told The Most
Jed Wyatt’s ex, Haley Stevens, came forward mid-season saying Wyatt went on The Bachelorette with the sole intention of promoting his music and always intended to return to her once filming was over.
During “After The Final Rose,” Brown announced that her relationship with Wyatt was officially over.
On part one of the finale, we watched Wyatt hugely downplay his relationship with Stevens. He told Brown that he never considered her an official girlfriend.
“We’d only hung out a few times. We had gone to a dinner together and then after dinner together we had slept together and she had just came to my house and I think we watched a movie. After that we took a trip to Gatlinburg and stayed at the cabin,” he told Brown.
He continued: “We go to Gatlinburg, it’s close to my parents’ and they’re like ‘stop by,’ whatever, so we stopped by, she met my parents. We go back to Nashville, life goes on, January rolls around, it’s my birthday. I’ve never had anyone throw me a surprise birthday party. She has like rallied all my friends, there’s a cake and I just get excited over all that stuff. I was like ‘oh my gosh I didn’t expect anyone to do anything.’ And she was like ‘and I got you this,’ from her parents. Her parents got me a vacation to the Bahamas. It’s for my birthday but the day of the vacation’s on her birthday.”
And so on.
What Haley Stevens thinks about Jed Wyatt’s version of their relationship
Stevens said in an interview with ET recently that it’s been strange to watch the person she fell in love with be so different on TV.
“There’s been a disconnect because I fell in love with this person who told me that they loved me and then now I’m kind of on the backside of this thinking how did I miss this? Who is this person that I’m now seeing on my TV screen? It’s just like a weird disconnect. I truly believe good people do bad things but I’m just kind of missing how we could be here honestly,” she said.
The Jed Wyatt lie that bothers Haley Stevens the most
But the lie that bothered Stevens the most was how much Wyatt downplayed their relationship.
“Just hearing about him saying that we just ran by his family’s house and it was just a free cabin. Downplaying all of these things that meant a lot to me and that I just believed. When somebody says “I love you”–call me crazy for believing in that,” she said.
Stevens went on to say that she’d love to know that Wyatt felt regret for his actions, and that he’s learned from all of this.
“I would like to know that there’s some kind of remorse. I don’t know if I will ever get it. At this point, I think so much damage has been done [an apology] is not even necessary. I’ve moved on from him and [the finale] was kind of the last moment of all the craziness so I can just kind of go on with my life now,” she said.
