“Through all the drama I’ve always seen the good in Luke. Luke’s definitely complex and I want to understand why he is the way he is. If not, this would be the end of the road for us,” Bachelorette Hannah Brown told the camera before her hometown date with controversial contestant Luke Parker “I feel like Luke is a jigsaw puzzle for me, like I’ve got the corners down but don’t really have the middle figured out and I feel like I can see that by seeing where Luke comes from, the people that made a Luke.”
For the first portion of Parker’s hometown date, he took Brown to a Sunday school gathering that he and his friends participate in on a weekly basis. Brown asked some of the Sunday school members about growing up with the first impression rose winner.
“He’s just the nicest dude,” said one member.
“He’s the real deal. It’s just evident in how he lives, how he talks, he’s been a good friend for me,” said another young man.
“Luke literally makes friends with everybody around us. It didn’t matter who was sitting by us, he was gonna go be friends with them,” one young woman told Brown.
“Luke loves the underdog and he’s gonna reach out to them. Just so hospitable. We love him like our kid,” said another Sunday school participant.
Brown’s evening with Parker’s family went even better than their Sunday school date.
“It was great to see him being affirmed by other people. It was nice also for me to be affirmed in the good that I see in Luke. It was a nice change to just see people rally around him and support him because I’ve not heard a lot of that,” Brown told the camera. “Today was a really good day. I feel like Luke and I need to continue the momentum. I’m ready to go and see the rest of his family tonight, but I feel like today was a really good day.”
Brown didn’t beat around the bush when she met the Parkers. She spoke to Parker’s family about his relationship with the other contestants and voiced her concerns. Everyone spoke openly and candidly. Both the first impression rose winner’s brother and father went to bat for their brother and son, saying he’s a good person with a big heart.
What Hannah Brown learned from Luke P.’s hometown
It’s no secret that Brown and Parker, right away, shared an intense connection. But, for weeks, their relationship’s been rocky. As Brown mentioned going into her hometown date with Parker, she needed to figure out who the “real Luke” is. After meeting his friends and family, she obviously felt like she’d done that.
“I feel like surrounding Luke with people who love him really brings him back to who he is and so this is a great way to see more of the real Luke,” she said during last night’s episode.
What’s more, Brown loves herself a religious man.
“It’s cool to see that Luke really lives his faith. And you could tell he was just really happy to be here,” she said after their Sunday school date.
At the end of their date, Parker told Brown he loved her.
“Luke told me he loved me. It felt really good. Made my heart do flutteries,” she told the camera. “I’m feeling like I’ve fallen in love with him–I’m falling in love with him.”
