‘The Bachelorette’: How Does Chris Harrison Feel About Clare Crawley Now?

Clare Crawley’s season has truly been unlike any other in the history of The Bachelorette. By falling in love with contestant Dale Moss so early on, Crawley effectively ended her season just a few weeks into filming. Because of this, production had to find someone new to fill in as the lead. So, how does host Chris Harrison feel about Crawley after she sent the show into a frenzy?

Clare Crawley claims that she did not quit

Before this season even began airing, rumors started swirling that Crawley had fallen in love and refused to film. Some sources even said that she locked herself in a closet so that she wouldn’t have to film. Once Crawley was allowed to do interviews, she denied those claims.

“I did not quit the show,” she told  Entertainment Tonight. “I stayed the whole time, I went, I did what I was going to do there. I showed up, I didn’t quit anything.”

And she made sure to tell fans that she did not lock herself in a closet.

“I can promise you I did not lock myself in a closet,” Crawley continued. “That was one [rumor] I heard that I was throwing a fit and I locked myself in a closet.”

Why did production switch Clare Crawley out?

Crawley’s feelings for Moss became so apparent that even the other men began to notice that she wasn’t interested in spending much time with them.

“The guys aren’t dumb,” Harrison told the outlet. “If you’re dating somebody and you’re trying to get to know somebody and you feel brushed off, you feel like they’re kind of ignoring you, you feel like she’s bringing up another guy nonstop… they’re going to notice this, and so it was a little off-putting.

“I don’t blame them for being frustrated in this situation,” he continued. “They came for what they thought was a certain journey and they’re not getting that experience, and so I understand their frustration as well.”

For Harrison, it really became clear on the dates that aired this week that Crawley wasn’t in it for the other men anymore.

“These guys have also really given up a lot to be here and I respect that too,” he said. “I just wanted them to have a fair shot and you can very clearly see on that date, they’re not getting that shot anymore.”

Is Chris Harrison upset with Clare Crawley?

Though Harrison told Crawley that she “blew up” this season of The Bachelorette, everything seems to have worked out in the end. Tayshia Adams came on to replace Crawley and the franchise got to have one of the biggest twists in the history of the show. But does Harrison still harbor hard feelings about all that Crawley put them through?

“I definitely am not disappointed in Clare,” Harrison said. “I’m not mad at Clare, none of this is a bad thing. If Clare’s falling for somebody, and that’s where this goes, then great. The whole purpose of this is to help Clare find love… If I do it in record time, that should go on my record. That should be a good thing. There shouldn’t be a negative to this.”
