Jed Wyatt is a fan favorite since he’s been charming Hannah Brown with his music on The Bachelorette. So fans didn’t know what to think when he told her that he went on the show because it was a big platform for his music.

One of the last things you want to be accused of on The Bachelorette is going on it for the wrong reasons. That would include promoting yourself or something.

Wyatt kind of turned that whole thing on its head by coming clean to Brown that he did go on the show for his music. “Music is my passion. I want it more than anything in this world,” he said. The singer said pursuing music is “hard and scary.”

“When I signed up for the show, I was skeptical… my first thought was, ‘This is a huge platform,'” he admitted. “I came in with that mindset.” The guitar player claimed he has had a change of heart.

“Now, more than anything, I want to be with you,” he said. Brown applauded him for his honesty and gave him a rose.

Brown said she already knew why Wyatt came on the show

The reality star talked about her reaction to Wyatt. She revealed why it was all pretty obvious.

When a guy walks in with a guitar, they’re notorious for… you’re always [suspicious] of something,” Brown told Entertainment Tonight. “But all I’ve wanted is someone to be honest and real with me, and he was that. And so, he did exactly what I asked for him to do. I admired that.”

She talked about her feelings for the singer. “I have a strong connection with Jed, and so for me, that was really important to hear from his mouth that ‘Hey, this is why I came on,’ because ultimately, none of those guys knew it was really me that was going to be the lead when they signed up for this show,” Brown said. “So for him to say, ‘Hey, I didn’t know who it was going to be. This is why I came on the show, but now I really do have feelings for you,’ that, I feel like, was even harder to do.”

Wyatt said Brown wanted them to be honest

Fans were torn over whether Wyatt made the right or wrong move telling Brown about his intentions going on the show. He posted in an Instagram story about the situation.

One fan asked, “on the bachelorette, you said ‘it was a big platform’ did you mean it they [sic] way it’s [sic] sounds?” The musician answered, “Hannah said she wanted us to be open and honest and I didn’t want to go another day without her knowing the truth. I knew some people would take it the wrong way but what mattered to me was being honest so we could focus on our relationship.”

The musician seems to be happy with his decision to be honest with Brown and it paid off. Only time will tell if he’ll be the last man standing this season.
