‘The Bachelorette’: Jed Wyatt Responds To A Comment That Says His Thailand Trip Is An Effort To ‘Damage Control’ His Reputation

In the summer of 2020, Jed Wyatt will be traveling to Thailand where he’ll be “teaching, loving, and spending time with kids in an orphanage who have either been orphaned or abandoned.”

He recently posted to Instagram about his upcoming trip and how excited he is: “If I had a tail I’d be wagging it..” He wrote that it’s always been a dream of his to “serve others in a way that gives them a chance at a better life.”

Additionally, he gets to spend some time at an elephant sanctuary that the organization promises is legitimate and kind to the animals.

“for those who don’t know that’s my favorite animal so I’m going to geek out,” he wrote.

He’s traveling with Lift Our Planet, an organization that “combines immersive volunteer experiences with adventure travel at an exceptional value that support conservation efforts and community development initiatives around the world,” according to their website.

Lift Our Planet’s goal is to “encourage life-long learning, foster responsible global citizenship, and leave a positive and permanent impact on both the planet and the participant.”

It sounds like just what Wyatt needs right now.

Ever since Hannah Brown called off their engagement after learning that Wyatt had come on the show with a girlfriend, Wyatt’s been having a tough time, just as Brown has.

In an interview with LAnded Late Night that took place in August, Wyatt said that he’s focusing his time and energy into being “an all-around better person.”

It seems like this trip definitely aligns with his current goal.

An Instagram commenter wrote that Jed Wyatt is only going to Thailand to save his reputation

At this point, Wyatt’s a pro at handling haters.

“Still trying to do damage control on your reputation I see,” wrote one Instagram user on Wyatt’s post about Thailand.

“excited to do a good deed actually. You should try it,” Wyatt responded.

“I do good deeds regularly and *gasp* don’t advertise it on Instagram to announce to everyone that I’m doing good deeds,” the user shot back.

Other than a few negative comments of a similar nature, Wyatt received mostly a positive response to the announcement of his upcoming trip.

“How awesome! Can’t wait to see pictures! I had a friend from college do the same thing and she LOVED it!” wrote one fan.

“Sounds incredible!” commented another.

But what’s really getting Wyatt fans jazzed is that they have the option of coming with him.

“You can come WITH ME! Just head over to the link in my bio and book July 2020 to Thailand. Oh yeah, @rgarrettp [Garrett Powell] is coming too. Let’s go,” he wrote.
