‘The Bachelorette’: Jed Wyatt Wants Fans to Leave His Family Alone Amid Girlfriend Scandal

Poor Hannah Brown. While she is in musical bliss with Jed Wyatt, the rest of the world is trying to figure out if he is truly there for the right reasons.

But you can’t really blame fans, Wyatt himself said that he was initially on the show to promote his music.

What did Wyatt say about his music career?

Early on in the season, Wyatt “came clean” about his true intentions.

“Music is my passion. I want it more than anything in this world,” he told Brown. “When I signed up for the show, I was skeptical… my first thought was, ‘This is a huge platform,'” he said. “I came in with that mindset.”

And even though that should have been a major red flag, Brown actually admired Wyatt for telling her.

“When a guy walks in with a guitar, they’re notorious for… you’re always [suspicious] of something,” she told Entertainment Tonight at CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee. “But all I’ve wanted is someone to be honest and real with me, and he was that. And so, he did exactly what I asked for him to do. I admired that.”

But that wasn’t the last of the issues with Wyatt.

Rumors that Wyatt had a girlfriend

Theoretically, men are supposed to go on The Bachelorette to find love. In order to do that, they should probably be free of any romantic entanglements back home.

Recently, Haley Stevens, a Nashville musician, came forward and said that she had been dating Wyatt for four months up until right before he left to film the show.

“Obviously, I’ve looked back on this,” Stevens told Entertainment Tonight of her relationship with Wyatt. “I read text messages that I sent that I’m like, ‘This is embarrassing. How could I let myself be here? How could I let myself believe this?'”

“Someone told me they love me, this is what’s best for them, I trusted in that. I could never have known that this is what the situation would be. I could never have known that feelings would be involved or hearts would be broken,” Stevens continued. “I know that this story is hurtful to [Hannah Brown], and she’s feeling what I have felt, and that is not an easy thing to do or know that I’ve done. None of it’s easy. So many people are tied up in this.”

What does Wyatt have to say about the allegations?

Wyatt has been pretty tight-lipped about the whole situation. This could be due to the ironclad contract that he signed with The Bachelorette that really restricts what he can and cannot say.

But he did break his silence to tell people to leave his family out of the whole mess.

“Hi y’all. Several of you have reached out with messages and questions. Please know I’m not able to answer right now, but as soon as I’m able to, I will,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Until then, I ask that you please understand how much the actions being taken towards myself, my family, the men on the show, and above all, Hannah, are affecting all of our mental and physical health.”

According to Wyatt, people haven’t been so kind to his family since all of this came out.

“It goes beyond what is said online,” he continued. “Threatening letters and phone calls have been sent to our homes. My parents and sister are being verbally attacked in public. I beg you to remember what seems like a harmless action is damaging to real people. I want to thank all of you who have reached out or reserved judgment until I am able to speak openly and I can only ask for your patience and kindness until then.”
