JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers met on ‘The Bachelorette’
Fletcher was the star of season 12 of The Bachelorette. She hit it off with Rodgers quickly and gave him the first impression rose.
The season ended with them getting engaged with a Neil Lane ring. They’re still engaged, but Rodgers proposed again with a different ring. She posted a picture of her ring on Instagram with the caption:
Yesterday, Jordan asking me to marry him… again!! I didn’t see it coming nor ever expected it… I can’t put into words how much it meant to me @jrodgers11 … but I think you know by now from me bawling hysterically and totally blacking out. The show brought us together and set us up for a truly amazing proposal the first time around, but this time was all YOU. And that means everything and more to me. I can’t wait to marry you! Thank you for loving me so purely and protecting my heart in a way I always used to pray for.JoJo Fletcher, Instagram
They postponed their wedding
Rodgers and Fletcher are one of the many couples who had to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic. Fletcher talked about having to wait longer with Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
“We both came to the conclusion that we want our wedding to be exactly how we planned it. We’ve waited this long. We’re OK to wait a little bit longer. It’ll be better, not only for us but for our guests. We want to make sure everyone’s feeling safe and healthy and comfortable,” she said.
They didn’t learn how to fight
The couple admitted to struggling in their first year after the show. They told Entertainment Tonight had multiple bad fights and arguments.
“You don’t ever get to have conflict on the show. You really don’t. You may have a little bit and… but you never learn how to fight,” Rodgers explained. “And anybody that’s in a relationship knows that you need to know how to navigate relationship conflict. We did not know how to do that, and we were on different worlds of how we handled that.”
Fletcher explained how things turned around between them. “It was just that conscious decision every time that we got into an argument, taking a step back and, yes, we love each other, but we also need to respect each other,” she said. “To this day… nothing’s perfect! There are moments where we’ll be discussing or arguing about something and we’re like, ‘OK, this is where we need to take a moment.’ It’s just always gonna be work, and I think that’s what makes relationships last.”
It sounds like the couple had to figure out how to make things work. Fans will have to continue waiting to see them tie the knot.
