‘The Bachelorette’: Why Jordan Re-Proposed to JoJo With a New Ring
JoJo Fletcher is one of the most beloved people in Bachelor history. The former bachelorette instantly became a fan favorite on Ben Higgins season of The Bachelor. When Fletcher was sent home (after Higgins famously told her he loved her) right before the final rose she was devastated. Fortunately for Bachelor Nation, she was given a second shot and became the bachelorette where she met and fell in love with her fiance, Jordan Rodgers.
JoJo Fletcher & Jordan Rodgers
Fletcher and Rodgers’ chemistry was obvious from their very first episode of The Bachelorette, but unfortunately, things weren’t always smooth sailing for them. A former football player, many fans believed Rodgers was only on the show for the fame. The couple had to deal with tons of vicious rumors after their engagement, and at times it shook the foundation of their special relationship.
Both Fletcher and Rodgers have been extremely candid about the rocky points in their relationship. In fact, Fletcher recently spoke to how challenging it was to be together at the beginning of their relationship following the show. “Times were not always easy… they actually got very very hard early on, but we stuck by each other and worked every day towards our relationship,” Fletcher confessed. Clearly, the hard work paid off, because three years later the pair are happier and more in love than ever and are planning their wedding for next year.
A second proposal
In fact, the happy couple is doing so well, that Rodgers decided he wanted to pop the question again. Though he appreciated everything The Bachelorette had done for their relationship, he wanted a special moment between just the two of them. I love @joelle_fletcher with all my heart!! I always wanted to re-propose, with no cameras, no producers, no drama…just us. Our first engagement was so real, and meant so much to us both, but as we start to actually plan our wedding for next year I wanted to do it all over again, OUR WAY!,” the reality star began.
A new engagement ring
Rodgers then went over how he prepped for this second proposal. “So I bought a new ring, made a plan (that almost fell apart multiple times), and got down on one knee all over again. This time it was simple: Joelle is the love of my life, she is my rock, she is the funniest, strongest, and sweetest person I have ever known,” the former bachelorette contestant shared.
The Cash Pad star then shared how this new proposal was different from the last. “The first time around I fell in love with a lot of what you all love about JoJo. But this time around I got on one knee and vowed to honor and protect her heart, which is the greatest part of her. She loves her family, her friends, me, and complete strangers with the most pure love a human can give. And THAT is what I love most about her most. How she treats people, how she loves people, and how she makes me a better man. And that is what I will always love, cherish, and protect the most!,” Rodgers confessed.
A 2020 wedding
Finally, Rodgers shared that his love for Fletcher had only expanded in the past few years and he couldn’t wait to marry her. “So this time the promise and commitment were the same as the first, but this time my love for her has grown a million times over. And 50 years from now I’ll look back and it’ll have grown a million times over again. And so the greatest adventure in life begins (again)…with my best friend. Let’s get F’ing married already,” Rodgers ended.
Say what you will about the Bachelor franchise, but it’s clear that sometimes it really works. We love that Rodgers went out of his way to do this romantic gesture and recommit himself to Fletcher. We wish the happy couple well wishes and joy as they go about planning their wedding.
